Something has to pique JWs curiosity somewhat.

And,, thiis is why the Borganization hates education & independent research so much

There is now,,,enough information to create ""cognitive dissonance"". Which when critical thinking comes into play leads to doubt.

From there,,,,one realizes he/she has been manipulated & can conclude they have been duped.

    :0(

Somebody has to come to this conclusion on their own.

Nobody can do it for you. The thing is,,,,,there is a vast amount of information out there to come to that realization.

    ;)

Beth: I absolutely agree. There are no shortcuts- no one can do the work for anyone else. The info is everywhere yet most dubs are too lazy or too afraid to look at the evidence. (The systematic conditioning from the cult you spoke of)

Still, sometimes a question can be posed that can cause a "Honest Hearted" JW to google. If they already have a doubt or something just doesn't sit right, they might look it up -even if it's just to try to prove it wrong. That's what happened to me so I figure it could happen again.

Dressed as she was, its a wonder the elders didn't address that. There are always talks about dress. No doubt it was hot, she is older and needs to be cooler, I can see that. You handled it well and were courteous. Good for you.

At this point, considering all the information that is available at the click of a keyboard, anyone who does not know TTATT is CHOOSING to not know.

I sometimes think it's hopeless to try and reason with them - I put the zoom on for my aged parents on Sunday.

A lifelong friend, Ted immediately started speaking to them.

I heard him say: 'The end of this system won't be long now guys - any day now..'

Ted was contacted by the JW;s in 1960 - 64 years ago - and he still thinks it's coming soon - waste of life - waste of time trying to reason with folks like that!!🤷‍♂️

    JWs are mind controlled.

That is the problem . when presented with indisputable facts they turn their critical thinking skills off :(

Thats mind control. Thats what people like Steven Hassen in his books talks about

Nobody can do critical thinking for you. You,, have to cultivate those. ;))

You never know what might trigger something in someone, especially if the conversation is handled respectfully and kindly.

NotFormer, I agree that "you never know"what might hit with a JW.

I also think it is important to "read" the JW. If they seem smug or happy leave them alone.

Sometimes the best way to break through a JWs programming is in a calm & diplomatic way..

Lets just say a cup of coffee at the restaurant.

You can show them all the facts. Be as calm & polite as possible.

Being argumentative strengthens their resolve & mindset.

Be calm & polite. Ask them questions and make them think. They will often give contradictory answers. Leave this with them.

This leads to cognitive dissonance. Then....doubt.;)

    I know. Its what I experienced. ;))
