Lissen Aztec, and without the least hint of superiority to my Army and Air Force friends here). If you really want tough, you want a marine fighter pilot. On the days the Air Force won't fly at all because of the weather, we're on the high seas doing controlled crashes on the pitching, heaving decks of aircraft carriers (otherwise known as landings).

And there is no uniform in the world more beautiful than Marine formal mess uniform.

Yeru - what is the oldest a man can be and volunteer for service in any of the branches? Do you know?

Pitching, heaving decks? I thought carriers went around storms?

My dad gets horribly seasick, but when he went on the Tiger Cruise from Hawaii to CA with my brother on the Abe Lincoln he wasn't sick at all. Of course, the Abe was the one that thought it could take part in the America's Cup and argue with a lighthouse that it should move...

OK, I'll concede the point that landing strips aren't supposed to move at all...

Liz...has had immediate family in all but the marines...and ancestors in the Revolutionary War...

    Francois,

As far as I can remember, 34 is the cut off unless you have prior military service.

    Aztec,

Rather than brag about how manly I am, or how tough army guys are, I'd rather let actions speak for me, come here girl, NOW!

Aztec - I have to agree with Yeru. Though I dont get to tell people what to do often... I do have a squad of my own. The Air Farce will try to persuade you that they are the best. The Navy pukes will do the same. The Marines as just fucking insane. There is nothing better than an Army man. Discipline, Strenght, and courage. Thats what it is about.

Plus we are WAY better looking than any of the others.

Well, I have to pipe in here that while Eric IS very nice looking, he made a mistake when he chose the Army over the Marines. Pity he didn't ask my advice.

outnfree (whose Daddy was a USMC TSgt. and taught her the Marine Corps Hymn -- all verses -- by the time she was six )

Edited to add: ^ well, maybe that was a little fanatical.... LOL
