For a guy who doesn't have to work for a living and gets his car and health insurance paid for, gets extra cash on the side, doesn't have any children to feed or clothe, I doubt he has little stress to worry about.
True, but I think the poor old C.O. is on a treadmill too. How'd you like his schedule? Different place every week, nowhere's home. He's never allowed to have an "off-day" but has to be able to perform at each new congo he visits.
What a terrible, terrible life we all led! And we didn't know it! But then, the rat on a treadmill doesn't realise it either, does it?

When I was active, I hadthe mental battle going on referred to by implication here: I felt a lot of stress. But which was causing it - the jw routine, or life in general?
For years, I fought the inclination to look at the jw routine as a cause. After all, we were read 1 John 5:3 on many an occasion: 'the commandments of God are not burdensome'. So it just had to be life in general. In fact, if we were stressed, maybe we weren't simplifying enough, so we were told.
I finally realized that I had to take a serious look at the jw routine and finally admit that it was a source of stress. Sure, life in general is stressful, but the demands of the jw routine, well, we all know what that's like, as several posts on this thread alone testify.
Um, doesn't it occur to y'all that our perceptions of reality create our reality and that perception comes from our thinking organ, our brain? So, yes, it is accurate to say we think we're stressed. That's where ALL perception comes from. We don't think with our livers, I don't care what the Awake! says
