They tried to impeach Clinton because he 'lied' about having a sexual relationship with Monica,

What about the millions of sperm that died on that blue dress?

but Bush has lied about the reasons for getting 7000 civilians killed...

Not to mention a couple hundred coalition forces.

I've was so happy this morning when I heard a radio show talking about how people are finally raising questions of Bush and Blair. Finally people have their heads out of their asses and are starting to ask whether our information was reliable and holding Bush accountable, calling for inquiries, etc. I was on-board before we launched our first attack? Why has it taken everyone else so long to start to wonder?

I agree with the jist of this article. While each political side may have a different viewpoint on the checklist here, public debate and criticism of Bush is lacking - and not for want. During the war you could see that anybody who said *anything* that didn't go along with the administration was severely criticized. A general said we miscalculated and was bashed. A news correspondent said the Iraqis put up more of a fight than we expected and he was fired. Since when was the right to voice your opinion something punishable?

We need discussion on these things. I'm so happy that Bush's war mongering is finally being questioned. If he's in the right, then there should be no fear of inquiry. And in the process it would answer so many questions that made people like me opposed to the war in the first place. Perhaps it was justified, but not with what I was presented. Let's lay the cards out on the table! Maybe I'll see what he saw.

When you put things in perspective, this Clinton post sums it up. We spent millions of dollars chasing Clinton for covering up an affair. I don't care if he had sex with each and every one of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders in the Oval office. But a lot of major things are happening and the criticism of Bush is almost non-existant.

    OK,

Ya'll knew I was gonna chime in.

First, the issue with Halibutran. Yep, Cheney used to work for them. Had stock in them, but I'm like 99.9% sure that as VP and Pres, the stocks all go into a blind trust. Second, most of the contracts everyone talks about were those let to Kellog Brown & Root. Anyone whose been around the military knows who Brown and Root are and we thank GOD for them. You find someone else who can do what they do in a timely fashion then let them bid the contracts. A division of Halibutron also got the contract to extinguish the oil fires..WHY? Because they were the only ones prepared to do it. There's a limited number of companies that could perform the service, and none were geared to do so in a timely fashion EXCEPT Halibutron, so they were given the contract out of hand.

As to Brown and Root, they've been with the US military since before Vietnam, heck, I thought they had an exclusive contract. Quit complaining and buy their stock.

Someone here said of President Bush,

but Bush has lied about the reasons for getting 7000 civilians killed...

Let's look at this. First, even the democrats who saw the Intelligence believed the WMD were there, Tenet said no one in the CIA was pressured or forced to change estimates or analysis, so, where's the lie. It's not been shown that the weapons aren't there. Ya'll were willing to give the UN that had already had 12 years, more time, Bush hasn't had but 80 days so far, so ease up a bit.

7000 Civilians killed...I'm not sure that's an accurate figure, but will accept it for the sake of arguement...ONE SINGLE MASS GRAVE had over 15,000 that Saddam put there, just one...and there are more and more of these mass graves being discovered. Complain about that for a while.

The Economy WAS tanking under Clinton, go back and look at the statistics, the "recession" was the Clinton Recession, not Bush's. The Economy was looking up until 9-11. The Market is broaching the 10,000 mark again, the Economy doesn't grow overnight, and, with the exception of a calamity like that of 9-11 doesn't tank overnight. It was years of over inflated business figures (I read that the GAO said the Clinton figures his last year were inflated by as much as 30%, meaning the economy was MUCH WORSE than being reported).

Criticizing the President isn't unpatriotic, doing so OVERSEAS right beforeor during a war is...and illegal as well, but it won't be prosecuted again. Attacking the whole war effort while our soldiers are in harms way is also unpatriotic, the Republicans that criticized Clinton during the Kosovo campaign were just as bad as those Dems attacking Bush now.

Yeah, keep asking questions - you get answer you don't want to hear, but keep asking - they'll keep telling you the same thing. Never ceases to amaze me. I think Susan S is holding another meeting, quick you can still make it.

Jeez, Jelly and Yerusalyim!!! Where do you get your distorted facts from? Do you have a specific scientific poll at your ready that no one else is privy to? I am a proud American and I have only heard such clap trap from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and his loud-mouthed, ultra-conservative talk show clones. Most Americans do not believe the stuff you just posted.

IMO, you Clinton-haters are just jealous that you can't get a b***job and talk on the telephone at the same time.

I hate to be so negative, but this constant barrage against anyone who sincerely questions the Bush Administration's policies just plain P****s me off.

The hypocrisy being that is what America sacrificed all those young lives for, the American way "freedom of speech". While at the same time W has lied to the American people and anyone that opposes him is unpatriotic .

First, I voted for Clinton and I am by no means a mindless shrill. Unlike many (approx 95%) of the posters on this board.

    FACTS:

    1. The majority of Americans do support Bush on the war with Iraq
    2. The majority of Americans do not feel their rights are being curtailed in any real maner.

I would be curious to hear exactly what rights you have that have been limited. What could you do before 9/11 that you cant do now? Nothing is the answer. But reality will never impede on your self rightous rant.

I did not agree with the Clinton impeachment but you all should try to get it straight. What Clinton was impeached for was not lying it was for perjery. No stay with me here, lying and perjery are not the same thing. One is different that the other, really its true.

Also if Bush lied about WMD so did:

    Clinton

    Gore

    Most of the US congress

    Blair

    Saddam Hussien

    Hans Blix

    The government of Iran

and a cast of 1000's more

or maybe Bush did not lie and the WMD just have not been found yet. You decide which is more likey.
