I agree with you on this one. Soccer is the most boring game I have ever seen. I would rather sit in my yard and watch a tree grow than watch a soccer match. Yuck!

OK, UK guys, I forgot another sport that you are medioce at, and that is golf, even though it started in the UK.

I don't think America will ever really excel at Football at the national level (there will be some isolated good players) simply because it does not fit in with what matters ...

TV !

Aren't all the sports there designed to fit in with TV commercials? You really have commmercials with snippets of sport in between. Soccer is not like that - it carries on for 45 minutes each half non-stop. Not good for a TV company which is why I don't think they will push it. Without the TV it won't get the big bucks and so won't attract the top talent.

It's like the motorsport - you miss out on the ralleying that the rest of the world enjoys, even proper track racing like British Touring Cars and instead have to watch cars go round and round oval tracks ... I think it's just because it's easier to show the adverts on them to the cameras.

My daughter picks flowers, plays with dolls, looks so cute in her Sunday dress and plays soccer. My son builds tree forts, loves to play rough, enjoys doing "guy" things with his dad and plays football.

Enough said.

Football is a great sport (we don't call it soccer).

If you Americans come over, go and watch a football match, you can feel the atomphere is fantastic, sing and shout as much as you like, sway with the fans chant the chants. and when your sides scores the whole ground thunders.

Football is great, some people take it waaaay to seriously , but it is a great game.

Yanks hate it because they can't match our league. I agree, Cricket is sooooooooooooo boring....

Soccer has provided England something useful for those superior hard heads. They can bounce balls off them and not even break their rhythm. ;)
