I went to a gathering. Before the meal they had a women to make the prayer. I freaked out a bit since it was a women praying. This is the first time i have to deal with this situation, never before i heard a women praying in my whole life, i felt unconfortable. Will i do like the JW's by leaving the hall i was or stay. I had to reason myself a prayer is just a prayer no matter by who does it, male or female does not matter. It is the thought that matter.

then what would happen if you get one of those brothers whose prayer goes on and on and on for 60 minutes.
Damn! You're good, Blondie
Blondie should have been an elder,
they're right Blondie, I hate to repeat myself but, it must of been that women rule, that you're NOT ALLOWED to be, only pioneer and hall cleaning and having kids for those wonderful women at the Kingdom Hall, they're loss and our gain.

The society does not want to be responsible for what some 90 year old loose canon says in a prayer.
LMAO!! I remember an elderly brother who would always thank Jehovah for our sins. I also remember another brother getting councilled for saying the word "crap" in a prayer.

Now I'm embarrassed and a little insulted. As a group, I have little respect for the elders. There are many fine women on this board that would put them to shame with their knowledge, intelligence, courage, and love. Many women have done the real work of shepherding in the congregations, looking after the sick and elderly, comforting the depressed, while the men sought glory in giving talks from the platform. I always remember that Jesus washed the feet of his disciples because all of them (men) thought they were too good for such a menial task. It was the women who ministered to Jesus out of their belongings.

I believe the proper procedure for an exJW who goes to a gathering where a woman is saying the prayer is to wear a head covering. Just grab up your napkin and drape it over your head next time that situation comes up.
