Become a Circuit Overseer in your mid to late 20's. You would have had to qualify as an elder previously. This would mean the male would have had to have been an elder in his early 20's. (You can click the only bookmark)

A CO in the mid-twenties? That's really pushing it. They would have had to become an elder at, say, 21 or 22, maybe do a couple of years, then become a sub-CO for a year?

That seems to me to be far too little time to develop the real experience that should be required, especially with all the complex problems members of congregations are facing these days, and the constant administrative and procedural changes that the GB keeps implementing.

The org is trying to fast track a new generation of men in, and it's going to end in tears when these men have either too little spiritual depth (how many will remain 'firm' in their beliefs faced with all the crap that will come their way) and too little real world and real life experience.

"Worldly" experience of over-promoting young people to very senior roles is showing the deficiencies in many trades and industries, with lack of life experience, poor ability to manage people, and so on - the JW org is going to be no different if they continue with these policies, because people are people.

BECOME A CO -- WHAT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO GET OUT ON YOUR OWN!

Most 20-somethings are still living in their parent's home.

    90 day wonder.

Move from parental support to mooching off congregations.

COs bragging about all the vacations they took galls me. Always on donated money. Then they get upset when I mention needing overtime (required)

    SPOT ON D.O.C.!!!

They will need a 2 week course on doing their own laundry unless mom travels with them.

My father recently commented on a co visit. He reckon the guy that turned up would have been, at the very oldest, in this early 30s. He too agreed about the wisdom of having such a young guy put into that position of responsibility.

No worries. There are plenty of desperate single females who will be salivating over the opportunity to show how worthy they are of "special" privileges by volunteering to do the C.O.'s laundry, and hoping to snag one for added position if the C.O. is still single at that young age.

    Incredible.

I had a relative who became a CO and Branch Overseer very young in his late 20s after graduating from Gilead.

He was removed in his mid-30s.

It warped his personality. He became an overbearing ass, which he remained until the day of his death.
