Great pick up!!!
Perhaps the older guys with some assets have wised up to the incredible personal liability of being an Elder now in Watchtower land.
I wonder if the WTS will say that Jesus became the Christ at 30...and point to Timothy...or the 5 year old that was sent to the temple away form his parents in the bible. 5 year olds support
Tight pants told us, if you're not a MS in your early 20's who would want to be around you. Guess they'll have to throw some new light at that.
If your not an MS by your teens, an elder before you can buy beer, and a CO by 25 you might as well be an apostate.
Reminds me of some pratt we met when young at a big assembly.
Somebody asked him how long he had been in the truth and he replied "From birth,"
What a twat!!🤦♂️
They don't have a choice IMO. The number of older men who are still willing to carry the water for WTC is diminishing quickly, and there is a gap of elders in the 30-50 year bracket. They are actually targeting teenagers, hoping that they will be incentivized to stick with the org instead of leaving when they hit their 20's.You could be right, but if that is their thinking, it's also doomed to fail. Fast-tracking inexperienced, ill-prepared young men into positions of leadership is a sure-fire way to wreck things, both administratively and in terms of personalities and congregation "harmony".
THEY MUST MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE SHEEP - even if they have to use pre-pubescent boys to do so.
Again, look at examples from the "real" world - when too many young and newly-promoted people rise to the top in the police, military, skilled trades and industry, and so on, the quality of output, workmanship and reputation all suffer. You need a balance of youthful energy and creativity from new members along with maturity of experience and thought from older members to get the best out of a group dynamic (and to be more representative).

Yeah, and whatever happened to him? I wonder if he ever reflects on the old adage: "It's not where you start, it's where you finish".
As BluesBrother hinted at, I would bet a lot of these fast-tracked young men will fall away (their beliefs will be too weak and untested or they will just change their mind and be drawn to other things - and people - outside) or they will burn out due to lacking the maturity to pace themselves and balance their lives. And on the way, they will mess up a lot of other people who actually try to follow their "guidance" as "older men". I think any older people - married couples, parents, etc - will just nod at their immature "instruction", stop listening and go and do what they think is best - which will be exactly the opposite of what the Org wants.
WhoaThat's totally the way to encourage the absolutely wrong kind of co, to engender resentment in perhaps very experienced older elders. Being lectured by a man the same age as their grandkids (or younger given the age most JWs marry) & reinforce entirely the wrong behaviour-reward system in the young 😬

Very good possibility. Just as you discover once you are an elder, all the shit that is shielded from the R&F and even most MS, is what you must deal with. Likewise, COs are drug into and must deal with all the major shit shows in all the Congs in their circuit.
Yes!👍
In my last few elder's and servants meetings i really HATED the way C.O browbeat and lectured us all on being patient with a brother who let us down on on the ministry, missed loads of meetings and was totally unreliable..
...Whilst we APPOINTED MEN had to be positive, reliable, upbeat and encouraging at all times..or else booted off our positions for not meeting the mark..
One elder on the bodies hours were fairly low.. the CO wanted him removed.
He explained that he'd been on COUNTLESS judicial committees and heavyweight elders meetings and shepherding calls over the last couple of months..
The CO said, yes, but the other elders who did all the same extra shepherding as you have all reported MORE THAN AVERAGE monthly hours..
The elder suddenly realised the other elders must have been falsifying their reported hours..
Yes, good luck all the new 'mature' older men in their 20's...they're going to need all the luck they can get!
SIDEBAR--> I learned from a member on r/exjw Reddit that an 8-year-old unbaptized male potential Dub was selected/ appointed to do MIC WORK in a Cong somewhere in the USA. WT is very desperate to get children (and possibly intelligent infants) to handle ADULT RESPONSIBILITIES. BTW, that particular Cong's BOE made the above decision because the sisters (single, specifically) were handling mics + technical tasks. These elders informed them that "The Branch doesn't want them to do these any longer". WELP. 🤷♀️
