Danny Bear- havent seen you in a while, greetings:

"It's ok to say your independent, a free thinker, but when and if you make a stand against the wind of majority think, you better be prepared for the ole KH cold shoulder."

Well of course being as antisocially inclined as I am ( a reaction to the compelled compliance within my dub experience)I have a tendancy to 'swim against the stream'. Even here.Whenever i see a general trend towards the forming of an agreed behaviour I tend to resist it. Thats something I still have to get over. Its true that disagreement with "generally accepted opinion" here will get you attacked or shunned, but perhaps that is no more than people ignoring people they find personally offensive. There is no policy here that persons have to be shunned for any reason, It is purely a matter of individual choice here whether you shun someone or not. That is the difference between Here and the Kingdom hall. I think if you find someone personally repellent and ignore or dislike them...that is normal and good.

Now go ahead and ATTACK me.... Please!

    Refiners,

****Thats something I still have to get over. ****

    God forbid.

Hope I never lose that tendancy to say 'wait a minute here', is this really the way? Although I did understand the spirit of your comment.

Being contrary just for contrary sake, is just a reciepe for unnecessary heartburn. So get what you are saying.

I like Simons poetic analogy ****United we prayed, Disunited we stand.****

Some time back, my husband printed out newspaper articles about the cases against child molesting JW's - in different countries - and showed them to his elder brother.

Elder's comments: "Those apostates control what the papers print about us. Lies."

My husband argued that there's no apostate unified movement - thus, no control of papers. Elder refused to believe that.

But xjw forums prove that there is no apostate unified movement..............we can't even be unified speaking with each other.

We are individuals............even if Satan is Our Master.

"We are individuals............even if Satan is Our Master"

Maybe we are individuals BECAUSE Satan is our master (warning: excessive consideration upon such thoughts can lead to madness).

Ballistic. I see you agree with me. I find you very agreeable. lol

    I agree with that statement.

It was pumped into them by the church, theyve had enough, are mad as hell and are not going to take any more.

Why do I have this overwhelming urge to toss a TV out the window.

I suppose a comparison could be made to http://www.friends-reunited.co.uk/ There you have a huge community of people united by a common past; they all went to the same school, just as in a sense we all went to the same school.

They have all also joined the same web site in later life and may actually contact each other, share and reminisce and gain much from the experience. But does that automatically make the members all stand for the same thing or have the same ideals or beliefs? No!

The difference between us and witnesses, is that they have come together from the entire world to join an organisation, whereas we have only formed an organisation by leaving that other one and, done that with our many different points of view. What we have ended up with is quite a fantastic coming together formed by our "separation", a truly unique and miraculous sociological breakthrough!

    edited to add "thanx"

Don't confuse unity with uniformity. The JWs enforce uniformity in beliefs and practices (and they still slip up on that aspect) yet unity doesn't dictate that we are all agreeing robots. Just as I don't agree with some some of the time like François and Yerusaylim doesn't mean that generally speaking, we are not unified on specific topics overall. But, by far, we are not uniform in our opinions, nor would we want to be. Everybody has something valuable that they bring to the discussion table.

Ballistic. Certainly we have attended some severe boarding school or other if we feel the need to congregate and endlessly discuss it and the brutality of the masters in their dispensing of punishments .Even decades after the event in some cases. And doubtless on that school posting board there would be those who personally hated me and shunned me.

I have to go to work now Brother. Mind the thread for me will you? Lol

RF: I agree with what you've said. Also, some fail to forget that there may be other communication that fractures the unity here. For me and BB it was slanderous e-mails without substantionalthough I have never slammed said person, the betrayl of my trust was shocking.

    Disunity among apostates, an oxymoron.
