Alright, my family, just when I thought they couldn't get any stupider, then find a way to outdo themselves.

Talking to them the discussion led to me saying, "if Armageddon is soon, why is the Watchtower building new facilities in Patterson and buying all new printing presses."

the answer, (you better be sitting down for this)

"Well, the work needs to be done, and besides all those buildings WILL survive Armageddon, and will be continued to be used."

I was floored. Do all the JW's think they and their buildings are invinceable ?

maybe this was "new light" at the assembly ??? (i doubt it)

I can't begin to imagine what they'd do with those in the <cough> New Cistern..er New System.

Personally, Toronto's CN Tower: I'd like that, if no one minds.

    Thanks

Yes, dear brothers and sisters... The headquarters and all the buildings owned by Jehovah's earthly organization (tm) are part of the "spiritual paradise" which will remain essentially intact, and serve as the centers for distribution of spiritual food to all Armageddon survivors and those resurrected in the new cistern system. Are we not glad that Jehovah had such foresight to use mere material buildings to the santification of his most holy name?

I heard one of them 'made-up' experiences at a get-together before I left the org where a brother said that in Turkey when there was a massive earthquake, only the kingdom hall was left standing. Jehovah saved it. But a couple of witnesses died. He didn't seem to think it strange that, if it was true, Jehovah valued the hall more than a couple of witnesses.

    Priorities right then.

    a couple of witnesses died.

If they died in Jehovah's favor, then Jehovah did them a favor by taking them right then and there before they could "mess up" before Armageddon comes.

If they died outside Jehovah's favor, they deserved what they got. But Jehovah willl resurrect them in the soon-coming new system of things, and they'll get a second chance at life. But they won't be allowed to get married or have children.

Isn't that JW logic just heartwarming?

It makes you want to go back to the hall doesn't it?
