If anyone wants to go this year, it's the 25th anniversary of the ex-JW convention held at the Blue Mountains Retreat Center. This is one you cannot miss!

    October 17-19, 2003

Hosted at Blue Mountain Christian Retreat
1 Christian Lane at Blue Mountain Drive
    (RD #2 - Box 118A) New Ringgold, Pennsylvania 17960
    (570) 386-2154

Everyone is welcome and no registration fee is required....except for room and food, if you want to reserve a room, you must call ahead and reserve a room (I don't know what the fee is for 3 nights) and you'll need to purchase a meal ticket for the weekend too where the cafeteria is downstairs. They serve GREAT food!

Simon, could you please sticky this for a while? This is a must not miss convention!

Here's an example of various testimonies you will hear from ex-jws

    I'll be there, Lord willing.

Last year, I spoke about my experiences with JW's and my experience with the Lord on the Sunday morning program.

It's always an awesome time there! As I said in my talk, that place is a mountain top in more ways than one.

I'll be there. I've already got my deposit in and I'll book my airplane flight in September. I went in 1994 and 1997 and I can't wait to see everyone there.

I do wanna go too, but problem is money and such.

However I may get a job possibly this week if luck pans out for me. Then if my new boss lets me go this year, I'll be happy as pig in mud.

Can someone email Fred & Barb Singleton or Dave & Norma Butler for me and see if they can take me with them this year? Hopefully I can go.

    Pray for me!

Last time I went was by plane and took a rental from Allentown, PA in 1993...

I'm the one that took you back to the airport! Remember?

As far as how much, I have no idea what the fares are now....

Guess I'll look into a Travels website and find out how much today's fare will be from Indianapolis to Allentown, PA. Then I guess I need someone to pick me up from the airport *shrugs!*

    Mouthy,

Yes I put a deposit down there. I don't know where I'll be staying, I have that piece of paper somewhere...Darlene wants to say in the dormitory there, however I told her I would pay her difference to bunk with me in a room. I'll be flying into Pittsburgh earlier in the week and pay tribute to the victims of Flight 93, visiting my favorite person's pyramid grave in Pittsburgh and then going to the retreat. After that, we are planning to go to NYC for a day or two. Still trying to iron out all those arrangements.

But so looking forward to seeing everyone there.

I went back in the early 80's when Bill and Joan Cetnar handled most of the arrangements. Got to meet Richard Hickman and a few others that we became friends with for quite some time. It shows a whole side of exJWs that are generally still serious about religion, not the typical Internet exJW more common in these parts. It was also the only time I met William Martin (Kingdom of the Cults fame), a likeable enough guy, but a bit dishonest. All the people and experiences were wonderful, it was a great experience.
