Dr. Farrugia from Australia is part of WHO Blood regulators network.

Dr Albert Farrugia described the role of Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), which is a division of the Department of Health and Ageing. The TGA regulates the safety, quality and efficacy of therapeutic goods available in Australia and primarily operates under cost recovery arrangements. The main experience of the TGA is in pharmaceutical regulation. Emerging biological therapies have mostly been exempt from the regulatory authority of the TGA and therefore there is limited experience and difficulty in regulating therapeutic procedures that are closely aligned with medical practice or part of the public health.

    I forgot this part...

In 2009, the U.S army invested close to a billion dollar to perfect their field medical personal on bloodless surgeries and treatment. Because not only its safer but its very cost effective. In my opinion and when I had seen in the last few decade, we are very close to a time when no single blood will ever to use in medical science.

Yes. The US army has always had an interest in blood research. The WT and the US Army have mutual interests. Close to a billion dollars - invested in the same companies that the JWs have their fingers in...well, maybe more than their fingers.

However, I stumbled, again, on an interesting little piece of info about the US army's discontinuation of the use of dextran as a blood substitute for front line trauma victims who have severe blood loss. The army has reverted back to using packed red blood cells as first response - dextran is out. *sorry...if anyone wants that reference, I will look for it.

But who is Dr. Albert Farrugia in his real life?

    Is he a Jehovah's Witness?

    My spidey sense is tingling...

    http://almar-therapeutics.com/site/albert.php

"He contributes to international developments through advocacy for patient groups..."

Did he come up through the ranks of the HLC network? Like Shannon Farmer did who claimed the same advocacy role?

I will have to check this new article in TRANSFUSION from Isbister. Who quickly was James Isbister?

He is a very famous Transfusion physicians in Australia who was the inventor of the term "PBM" Patient Blood Management. So thanks him we got the improvement of technology.

And another thing about Albert Farrugia. He has been heavily involved with the World Health Organization. The United Nations. Setting standards for world health.

He sounds a LOT like a JW. He behaves like one...looks like one. The sniff test is starting to give off a particular odor.

I am going throw down a bet...any takers? I don't gamble often but it can be fun at times. Especially when the odds are stacked in your favor.

I am going with the skunk on this one. He might look like a tuna fish sandwich...but...he is walking low to the ground...

*Isbister...yeah...I will have to dig around a bit. A familiar name...I have looked at him...can't remember exactly the results. Definitely a "rubbing shoulders" kind of guy

    Isbister - Shander – Gombotz – Spahn

promoting bloodless medicine in this video.

Witch a certainity we can already say now that these researchers are the INNER CORE OF PBM , the first line of supporters/reserachers on PBM of 21st century. And I bet that these guys will get into the history books of PBM.

We are already on the trace of those JW who are in the 2nd line.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV4Nmjg29p0

Donald R. Spahn as Chairmann, Chariman of Dept. of Anaesthesioloy, Zurich ,Switzerland, has he already be honoured? He organised together with Peter Ernstshaw, Member of Royal College of Surgeons, Orthopedic surgery London, on 12.May 2000 the first European Meeting Congress on Bloodless Health Care in Geneve with hundreds of particiants - 330 participants, 260 doctors, surgeons or anaest. from many countries. A video about J.W. was displayed and had there its world premiere and got attention by hundreds of doctors.

Following an excerpt from the report that was sent to Bethel about this 1st European congress.

"The program was supported by a scientific committee of 8 medical professors and 2 doctors. Also among the speakers, the company had a total of 25 professors and doctors of different medical schools and areas and a lawyer most part, they are the top experts in these fields throughout the world and came from European countries such as Belgium, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, but also from Israel, the US and Canada. They lectured in English on the emphases "blood loss in surgery: How can it be limited?", "Ethical and legal issues in transfusion medicine and transfusion alternatives", "blood substitutes" and "Clinical Experience" Simultaneous everything was translated into German and French."

Visitors said it was a great tribut to J and his people.

The above mentioned Meeting was arranged by the Watchtower Society.

In May 2000 the Society arranged for a new video, Transfusion-Alternative Strategies—Simple, Safe, Effective, to be shown at a medical conference in Geneva,Switzerland. The video includes interviews with some of the world’s leading surgeons and demonstrations of techniques used in bloodless surgery. It introduced medical doctors in Europe to ways of treating Jehovah’s Witnesses and others without using donor blood. Doctors in attendance immediately submitted orders for some 300 copies of the video. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/302001002#h=5

So Donald R. Spahn as Chairmann of Dept. of Anaesthesioloy, Zurich organised the conference that was arranged by the Society.

The attendents of this convention could be seen in 20 years as "pioneers of PBM".

Many showed great respect and much appreciation for this initiative of J.W.

Would be interested to know who were the participants.

I am sure that Dr. Shander, Prof. Gombotz, Prof. Isbister and Spahn had inspiring time there in Geneve.

It is very likely that experts from the 2nd line were presents, perhaps Dr. Albert Farrugia (WHO), probably Prof. Hofmann (who works for the same Dept. of Anaestheosolgy in Zurich like Prof. Spahn does and likely co-organised the conference perhaps even as respresentative of the society), Farmer, Dr. Seeber and her husband and Dr. Sherri Ozawa as well as dozens others from Belgium, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, but also from Israel, the US and Canada whom we dont know of. It was fine possiblity of exchange and witnessing for the J.W. Why not speculate about so important matters.

    Peter Earnshaw.

Of course he surfaces. Back in 2000 he was a WT item.

The front cover of the Jan 8, 2000 Awake! magazine features a photograph of the UK ortho surgeon:
