Bag searches and pat downs already happen as a matter of course at most sporting events in stadia around the UK as well as at music festivals and concerts. There were trival bag searches at the Brighton convention last year with searched bags given a tag.

As K9 says we have had bag searches at Brighton for a couple of years. The searches we went through were carried out by AMEX stadium staff.
As regards badges, I never wear one and have never been asked where mine is.
