This in reality is a tacit admission that being gay is natural. In other words they are admitting you truly don't have a choice on whether you are gay or not, which is to be fair, more enlightened than the folks that say that you can simply decide not to be gay, because it's not organic.
The issue of dealing with the reality of human sexuality is one which the GB cannot win.
Their stance only emphasises how primitive their "Bible-based" instructions are, in fact how cruel and inhuman the Bible is.
How do they treat the small percent of individuals who either by birth, as in the case of some born with any of the various physical gender intergrades—or those whose natural inclination is homosexual or bi-sexual? They instruct them to suppress the facts of their identity and to abstain from any sexual activity.
The fundamentals of the organisation is blind obedience to the ancient dogma designed for Iron Age war-lords. Their reasoning being that it worked for "god's people" then so it must be obeyed today. No wonder they have to resort to "theocratic" lies to sustain their business.
There is no compassion in the Watchtower organisation for those who cannot reflect their glossy surface of a squeaky clean image.

The Watchtower's foundational claim is that it is faithful to the bible. The bible unequivocally condemns homosexuality. Therefore the Watchtower condemns homosexuality.
Their official statements are actually much more measured than many evangelical churches. The problem is that there are still people in the 21st century who think the bible is worthy of attention.
Interesting comments above. Personally, I believe that this is just window dressing for the public, strategy to stave off any media accusations of homophobia . The more "In-house" comments of Anthony Morris are more typical of how they think.
Certainly, if they were to become more gay-friendly they would lose the support of the generation of dubs my age , who have been conditioned to abhor such ones over many decades. I suspect that some may even be offended by this demo, viewing it as 'going soft' on sin.
The article referred to "Theocratic warfare " . This concept was born in the 1950's due to intense persecution in the Eastern Block of Nations and when memories were fresh of WW2 Nazi Germany. The situation is hardly the same today in the West. The Watchtower at the time described it's limited permitted use.

The WT has become better at talking out of both sides of their mouths.
On the one side, you have this deceitful demo; on the other, you have Tony Morris, the raging homophobe on the GB.
