  I don't want to get into an argument with either of you Dunning-Kruger. It is just that evangelicals in the UK are doing a lot of work supporting the LGBT community here in London and I don't want them to be given such bad press. Indeed one of our best philosophers belongs to this community and I have learned a lot about ethics from this person and about how an ethical engagement is part of the deliberative arguments that rationalists employ.

  what if an exjw comes across this philosopher's work? will he/she reject it because the philosopher in question is christian evangelical? in actual fact his work is useful for any kind of rational engagement whether it is theistic or atheistic. edit: take a look at the open university's ethics site.

  The wilful ignorance that is required to do so has no place in an age of freely available information.

  Evolution is not an issue for most Christians. They have accepted the overwhelming evidence and adapted their theology. Evolution does not require atheism.

  
  

  Better than that, Saint Augustine in the fifth century, argued that life developed under God's guidance on the basis of his reading of Genesis. He also argued that the universe was created from nothing and that time didn't exist prior to creation.

  The idea that all Christians believed in creationism before Darwin came along and proved them wrong is, to use your favourite description, "wilful ignorance" of the facts.

  You could argue it took science nearly 1500 years to catch up with Augustine's theological reading of scripture.
