I am wondering why Lloyd was not in that video of AAWA's? As much as he likes the camera, I am surprised his mug wasn't on there. Was Lloyd on the board of directors or whatever of AAWA as John Cedars? So, was he still trying to be anonymous at that time and that is why he did not make an appearance in that video?

That’s exactly why he didn’t appear. He was still incognito as “John Cedars” and I believe the word Lloyd uses for that now is “anonymous coward”.
He wanted to release his book, get disfellowshipped and use that for book promotion and coming out as his real identity. When he found no publishers willing to take up his book and give him his hoped for advance, he just went ahead and DAed.
Side note - since when does a publisher give a random former JW elder an “advance”? Advances are given to celebrities or prominent people for their memoirs.
Though she might not appreciate the question and since she’s here, I would like to know the reason why Barbara Anderson quit as VP of AAWA only a few days into launch. Was it because of Lloyd?

He's a legend in his own mind... and only his own mind.
Obviously he thought he was going to "blow the lid off" the Watchtower, that his memoir alone would bring down the entire religion.
I remember that little book signing he did at some tiny bookstore... god love them for hosting an event but he was obviously so excited, like people would be lined up around the block to meet him. I thought I heard that literally no one showed except some xJWs that he had asked to arrange it or something?
Anyway, his ego is what got us here to this point. Years of bullying, narcissism, arrogance, entitlement, you name it. It's no surprise that mentality eventually spilled over into his disgusting sex life.

Oh Please!... (not for you comment DerekMoors,but how L.E. is so delusional!) The one that did "blow the lid" actually was Barbara Anderson' with the Dateline tv show. Watchtower were very mad and upset with that! But I'm pretty sure when L.E.,(sorry i'm feel sick everytime i have to write is full name) went on the Leah Remeni show ,Watchtower was ? Maybe laughing ,cause of all the ex-jw ,he was there and they know the REAL reason why he was Disfellowshipped! IMO his "disfellowshipped file" is kept in a nice Blue Enveloppe... And to me it speaks volumes ,when M.Anderson's didn't want her name even mention in a post about that shenanigans ! So to people who say "but his videos help so much jw to get out of the cult" I say OH HELL NO! By the way , excuse me but what "video" are they referring to? I can maybe think of some interviews he did,but that means that ex-jw WAS the one that help maybe somebody to wake up, NOT HIM! The videos,like 607,malawi ect ,that was just him repeating what Raymond Franz wrote in his book . So again ,OH PLEASE!

I remember the first signing in London was a disaster. Back then Lloyd had everyone else do shit for him and all he had to do was show. It was at a coffee shoppe that allowed him to rope off a small section for signing. Problem was Lloyd wanted to assess a cover charge. The establishment had no such charge, so calls were made and it was all news to them he was doing that. Not even JK Rowling or other writers assess a cover charge. You get a signature if you purchase a book on the spot. Not Lloyd, he wanted to fund from all possible angles. Keep in mind this is after crowdfunding $20K USD to cover the cost of printing and marketing the book, including going on book tours. Like Watchtower, he wanted to be doubly compensated and he was.
The woman who put on the signing event met Lloyd beforehand and asked if she could get a copy to read. She was told flat out "no" and that if she wanted one she needed to purchase it. Lloyd was also acting funny, thinking this was a huge event in exJW history and wondered if he had enough pens to sign.
There was a moderate crowd, not sparse but not something to be bragging about.
On the American leg of the tour he got bigger crowds, I remember he was bragging about one being attended by 50 people. Of course, he took his wife and daughter and all the transportation and incidentals such as hotels and restaurants were crowdfunded by local exJWs. He went to Baltimore, New York and maybe another city like Philadelphia of Washington, can't quite remember. But when he flew to the west coast, he had a car rented for him and he drove from Los Angeles with stops in San Francisco, Salem Oregon, Seattle and Vancouver BC. All covered by the generosity of others. His trip to Australia was similarly funded.
He intended on renting a caravan for a tour through the American East Coast, South and Midwest. But for whatever reason that fell through, probably because of a lack of funding. Caravans are not cheap to rent, and it was getting a bit blatant that he was double-dipping these book tours with holiday time for his family.

Some of the people who funded that American book tour of Evans probably feel repulsed now by the memory of that time in their lives and their generosity toward him.
