I was unaware of the anti-Obama riots of 2012, so I did some research...

    From The New York Times:

Anti-Obama Protest at Ole Miss Turns Unruly
By ROBBIE BROWN NOV. 7, 2012

A student protest at the University of Mississippi against the re-election of President Obama turned disorderly on Wednesday morning, with some students chanting racial epithets and two arrested for disorderly conduct.

The university said in a statement that a crowd of 400 people formed at the student union shortly before midnight after reports of a riot spread on social media. Some students yelled racial slurs and profanity in anger over Mr. Obama’s re-election, the statement said. Photographs posted online showed students lighting Obama campaign signs on fire.

The university’s chancellor, Dan Jones, said, “All of us are ashamed of the few students who have negatively affected the reputations of each of us and of our university.” No one was injured, and no property was damaged, but Dr. Jones said the campus police were investigating.

Mr. Obama lost to Mitt Romney in Mississippi by a wide margin. But after Mr. Obama was declared the winner in the national race, 30 or 40 people began protesting on the campus, and a rumor spread through Twitter that it was a riot. “The gathering seems to have been fueled by social media, and the conversation should have stayed there,” Dr. Jones said.

On Sept. 30, the university marked the 50th anniversary of the riots that followed its racial desegregation. In recent years, it has taken steps to address complaints of insensitivity, changing its mascot to a black bear from a Confederate soldier and dropping “Dixie” as its unofficial fight song. Students elected the first black homecoming queen this year.

Margaret Ann Morgan, a senior who is white, said the protests cast the university in a bad light. Both black and white students will march across campus holding candles, she said.

“What happened last night was really disappointing,” she said. “We do have a history of racial issues, but this is not at all what our school or most students stand for.”

For anyone who thinks Trump "might not be that bad" or is really "no worse than Clinton", this is a sobering piece that you should read:

Sorry Simon, but I lost confidence in a lot of what Huff Po has to say since it became overrun with regressive leftist propaganda.

Clinton lost my vote because she, and the democratic party demonized me. I am a 40 something white male. I have been made to feel that my mere existence is evil and I owe everyone something. Sorry, but I don't. I am not evil. And I refuse to support ANYONE or ANY Party that wants to try to make me feel that way.

Aww.. how awful for you and thanks for sharing your lived experience.

It is good that you found a candidate who does not brag about sexually harassing members of YOUR sex and do not advocate unconstitutional and racist ideas against members of YOUR race.

And I also think it is helpful that you frame this as being a race/gender issue. Like, when crazy feminists say that men should be castrated, or BLM protestors lay hate onto the police.

Is it not reassuring and comforting to picture yourself in the victim position and get a good in-outgroup dynamic going? It simplifies everything, and gives a sense of moral superiority, where YOU do not have to think about what YOUR group does because YOU are the victim.

Oh wait, perhaps that only applies to "them"?

... is that a bit like when someone says: "I have lost trust in what (insert media source here) because it is run by racist misogynists"?

Trump's lies and advocacy of unconstitutional ideas are well-documented, as is his denial of science and support for warcrimes. I think that is why you will still rather attack Hillary and other people you do not like than face who you placed in your highest office.

What Trump and JW are very effective is: Trump"ling" the brains of the followers

Trump had such a success because he always repeated the same things (lies included), created easy pictures and confirmed them by constantly by saying "believe me", "believe me".

What can we learn? One believed what he said but what was only show, what was only propaganda and what does he think really?

Through constant repeating of the same things our brain circuits get strenghened, because our brains like to get trained to believe what is repeated. By repeating a lie again and again one could easily give the lie the character of truth, this would function at least in certain moments. What was once heared would remain. Thats good for learning.

JW use the learning method in assemblies and on big conventions, they listen and hear again and again the same things.

Linguistics are training speakers and politicians to speak with influence, to create pictures. Political framing techniques. A whole nation begins to believe, to think what is actually only talked to the nation into believing it, so it becomes politics. The winner with the best language takes it all.

Human brain changes through language, the aural sense is of most importance for us, our brain is changing each day and it is hard to edit what was once heared by rational arguments.

Note: Dont let your malleable mind get trumpled by those who say "believe us". Cults use religious framing to isolate.

    Nathan,

Interesting how Hillary looks like an angel in that Newsweek cover, while Trump looks like a raving lunatic in the other cover. Reminds me of how the Watchtower shows images of JW's looking like angels and worldly people like the devil. Propaganda at its best....worst

I don't think the media was against Trump. If anything, they failed to focus on anything but his every utterance while giving a disproportionate amount of coverage to Clinton's emails although without any "depth" to the reporting.

    They failed. Everyone.

It's also not surprising that newspapers and magazines have different versions ready to go - it's a race to get things out and the alternate-papers have existed going back to the early 1900's
