I appreciate all your excellent comments. Those that are most successful seem to be those that speak less and do not cooperate with them.

Yee-haw Min! Then, "Skin them smokewagons!"
Actually, the movie Tombstone has alot good lines that may be used in your last JC:
"You called down the thunder, well now you've got it!"
"The law is coming! You tell them I'm coming . . . and Hell's coming with me! You hear?! Hell's coming with me!"
"My hypocrisy goes only so far."
And the classic:
"I'm your huckleberry"
Or maybe I misunderstood you and you're doing the quiet, slow-fade thing.
Winston.

I’ve been doing the slow-fade thing for about 6 months now and it is starting to work. Some long term JW friends that live in other states no longer call me on the phone. One older couple (old enough to be my parents) in particular, who had been missionaries and circuit/district work, who had "adopted" me as their "spiritual-son," no longer initiate phone conversations. I suppose this is the result of some lengthy conversations with them of late, regarding the organization and its hierarchical control of every aspect of Witness-life!
In my last conversation with them, I mentioned that the scripture that states, "do not go beyond the things written," has no real meaning in our organization! Or if it does, then I’d be happy to listen to an explanation; I received none! That developing a Christian conscience to a JW, really means memorizing all the rules, dictates, policies and procedures of the Society at any moment in time. Since these dictates can change radically at any time, sometimes being completely reversed, you can at one moment be "loyal" to God’s Organization (as they call it), yet in an instant be disloyal if you fail to accept a change (e.g., the "generation" teaching). You then become subject to DA/DF’ing and eternal destruction by a militant-God who can’t stand people not following his "Spirit-directed Organization!" Yet, "God’s Organization" has no problem encouraging the placement of outdated literature that teaches the very teachings that can get you DF’d! They evidently don’t want to loose the money that can be generated from the sale of such literature! Otherwise, if they were truly concerned with "truth" wouldn’t the have all the kingdom-halls discard such materials? "What duplicity, self-serving, lunacy this is," so I expressed myself to them. Again there wasn’t anything they could say, because they know it is fundamentally true!
For the locals in my KH, I say nothing and avoid answering the door when they show up. However, a few years ago they removed me as an elder, calling me a "borderline apostate!" For the most part I kept my mouth shut during the interrogations! It was a very troubling time for me. Anyway, the few questions I raised during my tribunal completely stumped the interrogators; they offered no explanation, but simply said I had to "wait on Jehovah," at which time I said kept my mouth shut.
Thanks for starting this thread "minimus," I’m enjoying all the comments here!

what ever happens, please remember that you are fighting for your freedom and are ABSOLUTELY doing the right thing. I can't advise you about procedures nowadays. I walked away 25 yrs ago, and I don't know much about it now except that I am df'd and shunned by all JWs in the province except one elder who still speaks to me like a normal person.
As your family is heavily entrenched, it seems to me that they may come down hard on you. I truly hope I am wrong about this.

In December 2000, I was an elder’s wife with some 30 years in the organization. My New Year resolution for that year was not to attention another meeting. Up till that time j ob related responsibilities resulted in many missed meetings, as a result, it took them a while to realize that I was not returning.
At first my immediate family was upset but eventually they adjusted to my inactivity. My husband had to step aside from his congregation responsibilities. I had only one visit from the CO accompanied by the PO. The CO invited me to attend the Hall for his special talk. I thanked them for their visit and for the invitation but made no commitment to attend. I have come across some witnesses, I smile inquiry about their health and I let them know how well I am doing but otherwise I limit our conversation. My excuse for not attending is that I need time to reestablish my relationship with Jehovah. Amazing's suggestions are essential to a successful fade. I wish you lots of success on your endeavors.

Being a "borderline apostate" puts you on the "Watchim List". A few yrs. ago, it was commented by a sub-CO that I had talked to a former Bible study about the "truth, negatively". When I was questioned about this, I mentioned that all that I did was answer his questions truthfully. He had asked me about 20 people that he knew, 20 years ago, as to how they were doing in the "truth". Every person was either df'd, no longer associated or "apostate". When I informed him of the current state of these people, I added that "they must've known something that we don't".....He promptly told his sister and elder husband who passed it on to the CO. The PO blew it off but I guess I must've been expressing my displeasure in subtle ways.

LOL Me thinks Winston is a fan of Western movies. I think we all dreamed we could have gone out in "a blaze of glory"
Here's some another famous movie quotes that seems appropiate to the aformentioned situations:
Cool Hand Luke Movie Quotes (1991) Strother Martin (Captain, Road Prison 36)(Elder): What we've got here is failure to communicate.Paul Newman (Lucas (Luke) Jackson) (Minimus): Sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.Deliverance Movie Quotes (1972)
Jon Voight (Ed)(Minimus): Look, what is it that you require of us?Bill McKinney (Mountain Man)(Elder(s): What we, uh, "re-quire" is that you get your god-damn assesup in them woodsback to the meetings.Outlaw Josey Wales Movie Quotes (1976)
Clint Eastwood (Josey Wales)(Dansk) : Now remember, things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is.Poltergeist Movie Quotes (1982)
Heather O'Rourke (Carol Anne)(Minimus' Wife) : They're here.Sudden Impact Movie Quotes (1983) Bradford Dillman (Captain Briggs)(Irate Elder) : Don't you lecture me, you son of a bitch! Do you know who I am? Do you know my record?Clint Eastwood (Harry)(Minimus): Yeah... you're a legend in your own mind.Taxi Driver Movie Quotes (1976) Robert DeNiro (Travis)(Winston Smith) : You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talkin' to? You talkin' to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who do you think you're talking to? Oh yeah? Huh? Ok.Terminator Movie Quotes (1984) Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator)(Stubborn or Stupid Elder): I'll be back! -

I did the fade and I had elders calling me weekly for a month and a half. I never once answered the phone when they called and I never called them back. As of now I have not heard from them in 6 months. And I was a pioneer and an m.s. The only things I told them initially was that I needed a break from everything to clear my mind. Basically I used the "I am not well mentally approach". It has worked out much better than expected for me.

hmmm-------I think I'll tell them that I have mental health issues and say that I'm not well.
