Justhuman,
Is the story you are speaking of merely anecdotal, or was it researched by scientists? There have been many such cases studied and none have been shown to be authentic. In fact, one parapsychologist claimed to have found many good cases (Stevenson, 1975, 1977) but his research was shown to be poor. Scientists who later studied his "most authentic, evidential and thoroughly investigated" case concluded that the Indian child had acquired through normal means the information that Stevenson took as evidence of reincarnation. (Barker, 1979; Hines, 1988)
Other cases that seem to provide evidence of reincarnation until more closely examined can be found in many scientific publications. Regarding these cases, one scientist remarked, "all the most famous reincarnation cases are minutely examined and on the basis of meticulous research all of them are found wanting." (Edwards, 1986, p. 34)
I would love to see some conclusive scientific evidence of reincarnation, but at this time it simply does not exist. All we have right now are anecdotes and stories that have proven to be manufactured.
