The 'Darkness' that was fed by the Adversary is himself and Adversary against God. He is greater than Satan and he was in the beginning against God before God created anything. God began to create things in the heavens and put a hedge around them all to keep what he created from being swallowed by the Darkness. All this is mentioned in Genesis 1:1-5 and John 1:1-3. In the end, he will be "swallowed up forever." He is the last Enemy and he is also called 'Death.' God did not create him, he had no beginning. He has always been, and he has always been the Adversary of our Father. In the end, he will be "made ineffective" forever.

I am directed to remind you that.. "we are not under Law, we are under UNdeserved kindness." Therefore, the Law does not apply to us. We have a 'new' law written on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:31-34).

So are we just to forget about , all of the murders god ordered in the OT and pretend like it never happened? Can you imagine living at that time and having to stone your own daughter to death for talking back at you and yelling at you?
