I Am Changing The Word "Worldly" To Normal....

Minimus - I found it funny that the pastor in my church also uses the word "wordly". He uses it when referring to someone when they put more emphasis on something of the "world" than of God - in other words - we're ALL wordly from time to time. Hmmmmm got me to thinking........guess I'm not just "wordly" because I'm no longer a JW but am "wordly" because I'm human aka NORMAL!

Religious leaders like to differentiate themselves and those that they want following them from the "world". Then a select group can feel special and look down on the rest of humankind.

"Normal" means, "OK", as well as what the great majority of people in fact do (good and bad).
The WT has always called much "OK" behavior "worldly". What the rest of us, the non-dubs, mean by "worldly", is behavior that is regarded as "not OK", stuff like lying (or being a false prophet), cover-ups, verbal abuse, and so on. Pretty much the foundations of the JW empire.
I don't think the term "worldly" is misused in "normal" () churches anywhere like it is with dubs.

Remember, JW's are weird and the rest of the world is normal!.......No more "worldy" anything! No "worldly" relatives, workmates, schoolmates, attitudes, actions, boyfriends, girlfriends, cats or dogs! All these things mentioned are just "normal".

Great idea. Call a spade a spade. Worldly is normal. The normal people should call them "witnessey."
Or judgmental....or brainwashed....or cultish....or jw-ish....or jes plain icky... ESTEE
