Never did they say, 'These are the words of Jehovah.'
Actually, they said something even better. They said that Jehovah reached out, touched their mouths and placed His words on their lips ... when making prophesy ... and that they are commissioned as a prophet to speak in the Divine Name ... that they are a prophet greater than even Exekiel.
The Watchtower writers are very skilled at bringing out the quotes that support a speicific topic, even though they ignore quotes that say just the opposite. They are the most duplicitious religion in the entire world ... and maybe among the worst in human history. Jim W.
Some good points and questions all around here . RF--- I would say yes that would make robertson a false prophet . I think to look at scripture and proclaim a future event that does not happen cannot be looked at any other way . If people would stop for a moment and mention it may have been an opinion rather than a revelation then I think there is room for error . God cannot lie . What he says shall prove to be , according to scripture . I know Zola Levit is another one convinced that Israel is the focal point of the Ezekiel and Gog of Magog but he seems more convinced that the arabs will play a major role . He didn't give a time frame that I know of but was leading us to believe any day now .
I to have a hard time swallowing the WTBTS wayward stance on who the true prophets and false prophets are . Their definition of new light and old light goes beyond the realm of reason . If something is wrong it is wrong and if it is right it is right we don't just rewrite something and claim we weren't ready to know the truth until some appointed time and as we've seen they are known to rewrite again .
