Why would Jehovah's organization issue a press release to Satan's organization? What am I missing?

Is this a serious question? Obviously it would be to try and get public pressure to push for religous freedom in areas that are restricting them, thus allowing them to go on with their Saturday morning service and weekend conventions.

Yeah, as much as I dislike the org. I still hate to see this kind of behavior from any government to any religious group. And I'm a freakin athiest!

OK, ya now gotta ask, given the second article...if that was the real reason...and if other groups and organizations had been getting the same treatment...which would put this in a whole different light.

On the face of it it does look like religious persecution...which is wrong...and only strengthens thier hands...I agree with an earlier Poster...TAX EM TO DEATH.

screw them. do you for one moment think that the bros would weep for another gathering that was put down by the goverment of some country?

I will never forget a tape made by king. I think he was a gov. bod member. for sure he was anointed. [in his mind] where he said that dubbers should pay no attention to the plite of the starving masses in the world, jws he said could do nothing about it. our job he said is to preach this bad shit of the kingdom.

so screw them in the mouth. no quarter will be given. not with me.

You condemn the way they act, but then insist on acting the same way?

I do not weep for them. I don't think the bros and sis missed out on anything special that weekend. But I do weep for a country and people that do not tolerate the beliefs and practices of others. (Well, I don't really weep, but you know what I mean.)

do you weep for jim jones and his followers that had to leave the us because of persicution?

do you weep for applewhite [heavens gate] and his followers who made the hyper jump to the mother space ship in the halebop comet?

or the branch dividians, or scientologists who brain was and trample thair people,

these people are not the raelianes that are a little nutty. they are dangerous people with dangerous mind control of thair people. how many dubbers would drink the koolaid if one of the gov. bod. said to?maybe not all. but some would.

they deserve the name destructive cult. and If I could I would outlaw them in the us. jail the gov. body and lit bubba sodomise them in attica. you may not agree but it is how I feel. and I will fight them in any way I can till they pry the awake from my cold dead hands.

Sure I mean, if the corp. needs help, why appeal to Satan? Why not just send up a prayer to the big "J"? Or don't they really have access? Seems like if "J" is using the corporation, he could see to it the water is turned on for "his" convention . . . Or am I still missing something? GaryB

You are obviously fanatical in your belief of how evil the WT is, so no sense discussing it then. I see no similarities to Jim Jones or any of the other death cults. Yours is only speculation on how JWs would respond to a WT sanctioned suicide.

You know the answer to this, assuming you were once a JW which if I remember correctly, you were. You know that they believe the work is still to be done by humans and that they are his spirit directed org on earth. So anything that does happen to further the preaching work will be done by them. So they can't sit on their ass, they have to actively push to get the preaching work done, according to their beliefs of course.

I find it absolutely hilarious that so many on this board are willing to overlook religous intolerance in order for a slight bit of revenge.

I do think if the government is responsible for breaking the rental agreement that they are entitled to compensation , it is sounding like they paid for the use of the stadium and then were denied access to it . It's no mystery the russian government are probly the biggest creeps on the planet , I think right up there with saddam houssein . Ironically this is one I hope the WTBTS wins due to my hatred of the corruption of the public officials in russia over my dislike for the WTBTS .

garybuss --- I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future they are praising jah for settleing matters . That's the way they are ,anything good happens they praise jah anything bad happens satan gets the blame. They probly right now believe that jah is testing their resolve and integrity.

I too agree that the Russian government is acting unfairly toward the JW's.

However, I strongly suspect that the JW's aren't the only group being persecuted here. They try to frame their press releases in a way to make it seem like only the JW religion is getting any sort of maltreatment, hence reinforcing the idea that JW's are a specially persecuted group. When trying to advocate for religious liberties as in a case like this, I'd like to see them be more inclusive and fight for the rights of all religions (of course I know they won't do that ). Their press releases on the situation in Georgia makes it seem the same way as well.

But as I said originally, I hope this kind of religious persecution will stop. Let people be free to believe in their crazy god concepts as they please .
