"YOU might wanna"... just ask yourself, dear Gum-Ball-y (peace to you... and just "funnin with you" back! )

I did not ask my Lord. But... how do I say this?... I can answer the question... because... when taken before the Most Holy... I saw them... (which truth I posted here before, cannot for the life of me remember where!).

Here are the ones I saw:

David, Abraham, Moses, Noah, Aaron, Samuel, Enoch, Daniel, Elijah, Jacob, Isaac, Job, John the Baptist, Zechariah, Josiah, Joshua, Melchizedek, Abel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Joseph, Zerubbabel, and Jehu.

I saw David first, and although I felt like I should know this individual... "recognize" him, at first I did not. Hadn't a clue. That is, until his spirit bore witness with my spirit... and I was then able to see him "clearly". At that point, I immediately "knew" him. And so it went with the others.

I was surprised, of course, at some of whom I did see... and that I could identify them. First, because it never crossed my mind that they would be in this group(never crossed my mind that this was a literal group!)... and second, because there was no description "written" so that could know HOW to identify them. Thus, it was their spirit that identified to them me... and once that took place, I could "discern" the "vessel"... or body.

I was also very confused when seeing Jehu, because I thought he had turned away from JAH. So I asked... and asked... and asked concerning him (how could it be?) I was told by the Spirit not to "question the mercy of JAH". So... I didn't... and don't.

    I bid you all peace.

    SJ

    ROFLMAO

Let me explain why my mind went down this track...

I attended some theological lectures, last year, and recently revisted the tapes.
One of the lecturers was talking about heaven, and made the point that even though people go to heaven, there will be a physical resurrection in the future.
This event was toted as occuring after the old heavens and earth were melted, and the new ones formed (paradise being the combination of these).

The comment was made that physical bodies(albeit glorified) may need something physical to stand on.

It got me thinking on those who may have gone straight to heaven, such as Enoch, and Elijah. Also the fact that Moses body wasn't found. Then comments about the disciples sitting on thrones.
It got me wondering if the maths adds up, and I could find 24 individuals who might be in heaven in physical bodies, sitting on physical thrones.

It was a mental exercise, no more. I like trivia, what can I say

For interest, it was an Evangelical Minister giving the lecture. People are actually "allowed" (LOL) to think about sh!te like that, in "Christendom". Many of the scriptures were ones that we would have used as dubs, but with a comletely differant interpretation (not organizationally biased, for starters).

I told ya my girl would have the answers LT didn't I, well.........didn't I????

She and you are in cahoots on at least 3 of them!

In seriousness....I too was taugh of a physical ressurection that would later follow a spirit one. It was another doctrine that was speculation by all.

Thanks LitteToe for playing along. Me and shotgun were having some fun while you weren't there to defend yourself

    Jgnat,

Nopers, Stephen was not Judas' replacement...he was one of the first SEVEN Deacons.

For Matthias pinch hitting when Judas was just hanging around...read Acts 1:18-26.

For Stephen...the first reported Martyr of the church (thank goodness...otherwise his claim to fame would have been waiter) see Acts 6:1-7.

    Stinky,

Picking on me makes you happy? Easy to please ain't ya...I'm an easy target...but me thinks you might be in need of a spanking.

    ?

Let me explain why my mind went down this track...

    By all means... please do!

I attended some theological lectures, last year, and recently revisted the tapes.

    Uh-huh... yes...

One of the lecturers was talking about heaven, and made the point that even though people go to heaven, there will be a physical resurrection in the future.

Uh-huh... yes... this is true. (Those who take part in the second resurrection - which occurs at the "end" when the kingdom is handed over to the Most Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies, for HIM to judge... are resurrected in the flesh... and are later given a "white robe"... a spirit body.)

    Daniel 7:9, 10; Revelation 20:10-15; John 5:28, 29; Daniel 12:2; Ezekiel 37:1-14

This event was toted as occuring after the old heavens and earth were melted, and the new ones formed

Uh-huh... yes... this is true. For the "new heavens" and "new earth" are formed BEFORE the judgment that occurs in the "end".

    2 Peter 3:7, 12, 13; Revelation 20:9, 11-15; Revelation 21:1, 10, 27 (which occurs BEFORE Revelation 20:7-10)

(paradise being the combination of these).

Uh-uh... no... this is not true. "Paradise"... is the Holy City, NEW Jerusalem... which comes down out of "Jerusalem Above"... within which walls righteousness is to dwell... and which is to be spread OVER the entire earth, just as JAH first willed it... when He started with Eden, a small part of "paradise".

    Genesis 1:28; Genesis 9:1

The comment was made that physical bodies(albeit glorified) may need something physical to stand on.

Uh-uh... no... this is not true. For there will be no physical bodies, as flesh and blood cannot enter into the kingdom of the heavens. Those whom I saw... were spirits... in spirit bodies. What I saw is to be fulfilled at a future time for their resurrection has not yet occurred. It was just as when John saw them, and saw the spirits of those slaughtered "under the altar".

    John 3:3-6; 1 Corinthians 15:50; Revelation 6:9-11

It got me thinking on those who may have gone straight to heaven, such as Enoch, and Elijah.

Uh-uh... no... this is not true. For no one goes straight to heaven, except one, my Lord... nor has anyone been resurrected TO heaven... yet. Everyone... excluding my Lord... has to wait for two (2) things:

    1. His return and escort... and

    2. Everyone else.

    John 3:13; 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 6:9, 10

Rather than dying, Enoch... was "changed" so as to go "under the altar"... as was Moses. Once the dispute between Michael and Satan was decided, his physical body was changed to a spirit body (which is why they could find no physical body) and he was, too, was told to rest under the altar.

Elijah's physical body was also "changed"... but his spirit... was placed in first in Elisha's "vessel"... as well as John the Baptist's.

    2 Kings 2:15; Malachi 4:5; Matthew 11:13-15; 17:12, 13; Luke 1:17; 1 Corinthians 15:51

Also the fact that Moses body wasn't found.

Uh-huh... yes... this is true. Please, see above.

Then comments about the disciples sitting on thrones.

    Uh-huh... yes...

It got me wondering if the maths adds up, and I could find 24 individuals who might be in heaven in physical bodies, sitting on physical thrones.

Uh-uh... no... for flesh and blood... that which is physical... cannot enter into the kingdom of the heavens... nor are there physical thrones there, for such thrones would need to be made of wood and stone... or other such things of THIS realm.

    Matthew 6:19

It was a mental exercise, no more. I like trivia, what can I say

Well, you could have said, dear LT, that this was about "trivia" for you. Otherwise, I am curious as to the "game playing". Now, I know you will most probably think "lighten up, Shel, don't take this so seriously." And you most probably would be correct. Unfortunately, I don't take people's INTENT lightly... but try to attribute a proper motive to all. And so... I thought you to be serious... and responded on that basis. Forgive me.

For interest, it was an Evangelical Minister giving the lecture. People are actually "allowed" (LOL) to think about sh!te like that, in "Christendom".

Yes, they are. Isn't that interesting? The WTBTS would have you believe otherwise... that all they think about is Christmas or Easter or something...

Many of the scriptures were ones that we would have used as dubs, but with a comletely differant interpretation (not organizationally biased, for starters).

    Of course.

I bid you peace, dear LT... and ask that perhaps next time you let some of us more "anal" folks know that a joke is coming. That way, we can respond... accordingly.

    Peace!

YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,

    Wow, Shelby. That's quite impressive!

Although I'm still a little mystified at how you were able to recognize who was who. I mean, seems like every bearded and robed Jew from 2000/3000 B.C. looks pretty much like every other bearded and robed Jew, yes? How'd you recognize one from the other? Name tags? Color-coded halos?

And could you please remind me what function they serve? I "studied" the Revelation book a couple of times, but it's been a while. It bothers me that Joseph is in there. All he did was serve as Jesus' step-dad. How does he rate such a position? Or are we talking about the other Joseph?

Shotgun, it took a while to look it up, but I was almost on track when I said the seven stars belonged to the WTBTS. If there is one thing I have learned in three years of "studying", is that all scriptures lead to the WTBTS (at least in their own minds), just as all roads lead to Rome.

Here it is, from their own literature.

    watchtower 87 8/1 Christ’s Active Leadership

    Overseers

    in Christ’s Right Hand

8 The apostle John, a member of the governing body of the early Christian congregation, received a vision in which he "saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands someone like a son of man . . . And he had in his right hand seven stars." Jesus Christ explained to John: "As for the sacred secret of the seven stars that you saw upon my right hand, and of the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars mean the angels of the seven congregations, and the seven lampstands mean seven congregations."—Revelation 1:12-20.

9 Commenting on this passage, the book "Then Is Finished the Mystery of God" states: "Are such ‘angels’ invisible ones? No. The apostle John received the entire Revelation from Jesus Christ by means of a heavenly angel, and it would be unreasonable for him to be writing back to angels in heaven, in invisible realms. They do not need the messages written to the seven congregations in Asia. The basic meaning of the title ‘angel’ is ‘messenger; message bearer.’ . . . As these seven symbolic stars are seen to be upon Jesus’ right hand, they are in his care and charge and under his direction, his ‘right hand’ of applied power being able to direct and protect them. . . . As the ‘seven lampstands’ in the visionary ‘Lord’s day’ pictured all the true Christian congregations in this present, real ‘Lord’s day’ since 1914 C.E., so the ‘seven stars’ symbolize all the spirit-begotten, anointed angellike overseers of such congregations of today."—Pages 102-4.
