Way to go you guys!!!
mwaahahahahahah
Congrats on getting your last convention over with!
I remember my last convention very well. I only went for one of the three days. It's easier to escape the conventions because they're so big. Noone will really notice you were gone unless you made prior plans to meet up.
Since I was living a double life, a lot of the people I knew at school were shocked to see me at the convention. I told them I was only there by force, and not to let the others at school know I was there. Thank god they kept it a secret.
I never knew my last meeting was going to be my last. I gave a talk in the TMS. After that night, my parents never forced me to go back. I kept working on putting off studying with my study conductor, and everything just dropped. It was difficult facing the "Shepharding Call" three months later. They basically asked me if I still wanted to be a publisher and I told them NO. One elder almost broke out in tears. The other told me I was toast at armageddon. After the Elders left, that's when I felt completely free.
Good luck on doing your fade!
Congratuations and good luck on your leaving. I used to feel happy when people became JWs. Now I'm even happier when people leave.
I didn't know that my last meeting or last convention was my last one. I sort of became inactive by circumstance and read COC during this time and chose not to return. But I think it would have been better to know. I could have taken one last look around, talked with old friends for the last time, and savored the leaving. I think it would have offered some closure sooner too.
Congratulations, Euph & Piph!!! BREATHE!!! BREATHE!!! BREATHE!!!
Yall'll make it...
Cheers,

Good for you! The only thing I miss about Assemblies was it was a great place to write poems and stories! Maverick
In fairness, I do miss one thing about JW assemblies:
LOL, Reb! Already got one... except she's not repressed.
My last District assembly was in Bismarck North Dakota where my 3 year old son and I were belly pushed away from a perfectly good, working, stocked vending machine with a paper cover hand lettered "OUT OF ORDER" by two zealous security guards.
My last Circuit Assembly was Sioux Falls South Dakota where a District servant talked about 1975 and he said "Brothers, If you heard it, you did not here it here!".
I left both of them pissed off. And that was just the beginning . . . . GaryB
woohoo congratulations.
