My dad just got a serious stroke and he may pass on. My dubbie relatives heard about it and all they could say is "You need Jehovah right now." Typical. It shows where they really are in the shceme of things.

    Jeez.

My condolences, RedRain. And sorry also to hear about the less-than-helpful relatives. How are you doing?

So sorry about your dad! I know this isn't easy for you.

Typical that your aunts, grandparents and others would try to "witness" to you at a time of deep anxiety. (Yeah like you need a weird mind-controlling freaky religion to HELP you? Go figure.)

    Hang in there!

I'm very sorry, CRR. Any chance you can talk to him before he dies? Or is that not something you want to put yourself through? Either way, I send you lots of hugs. It's hard to lose a dad.

    Love,

    Nina

I know what you are going through. My 90 year old father had a stroke in June, but he completely recovered. Amazingly. It was a tough few weeks for us.

It all depends on where the stroke was in the head.

I'm sorry to hear this. My mother recently had a stroke, too, but after a week in the hospital and a few days in a nursing home, she took herself home. She wasn't walking at one point, and also could not remember some things, and, of course, her speech was garbled. I'm hoping your dad's stroke isn't as serious as it seems at first. Meanwhile...

    Take good care of you!

I understand your concern CRR. My mother suffered a stroke and had to give up her independence in favor of an Assisted Living Center. I remind myself that she is not a body but a beautiful, eternal spirit, created in the image and likeness of God. The mound of flesh that she currently occupies is merely her "concept of body". Although she will one day disappear from the human scene and I will miss her presence, I know that she will survive the experience and be glad to be free of her "less than perfect" human body. You can help your father by looking past the appearance of the human concept of body and seeing the beautiful spirit that he is, remembering the all encompassing love that God has for his children.
