Didn't the bone head who said that to you consider the fact that your Dad could use a little help right now ? Rather it is in the form of a superior power or just support and help from us humans, he (your dad) is the one with the biggest problem. About the time I think I've heard every dumb thing the dubs can say, they prove me wrong.
I am truly sorry about your Dad. My Grandmother died of a stroke when I was around ten years old and I remember it to this day some 55 years later. This is a trying time for you, but you do have support from the folks on this board, who are very kind and supportive. Best wishes to your Dad and to you and your family. Bug

Well, the news is worse. He had a stroke in the brainstem and every minute he lives, he's suceptible to a heart attack or another stroke. We're going to pull the plug on him this week if he doesn't come to.

And yet another dubbie told me today to "Pray to Jehovah". As far as I'm concerned, I want to have nothing to do with Abraham's Creator/War god.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad CCR,,,,,,,,,,,,, sending you hugs and thoughts. Keep us posted and if you ever need to talk , we are all here for you. The witnesses always use the worst of times to try and lure you back in.........to me that is so insensitive,,,, they don't care that you need to think of your Dad right now and all the things that you will have to be making decisions about soon. But that is JW's for you ,,,,,,,,add more burdens to shoulders that are already carrying so much. (((((((CCR))))))))

(((CRR))) I'm sorry to hear, I know this must be difficult.

For a glimmer of hope, my hubby's grandfather had 24 (yep count um - 24) strokes over a 2 year period in his 80's, and we had given him up for gone on at least 3 different occassions (in ICU, considering "pulling the plug" scenario). Everytime, he shocked us by waking up one morning & asking for spaghetti, then going home within 3 days!

The body has a weird way of healing itself at times, so I'm hoping for the best for ya (but yea, I don't think God has anything to do with it).
