We are not even on the coast but the Red Cross has put us on alert/stand by for Friday and the days following in anticipation of major storm damage in our area.

"us" being the disaster relief committee of the Red Cross.

Here's hoping the storm dies a quick death.

Oh, stay dry (((((nikita))))) A foot of rain does not sound pleasant. Hurricane Floyd was about 7 inches but I think we had little rain that year. This year we are already saturated. I'm in eastern PA but the last forecast that I saw showed the hurricane going thru the middle of PA, or west of me.... then into Canada. (((Mouthy))) Stay dry guys and get your candles and batteries. Autumn is such a beautiful time of year but hurricanes kinda ruin it. The week-end looks good though....Keep your chins up and have no fear. Just grab a good book and a cup of tea, if we have power......lol.... I'll be thinking of you all and I hope the forecasters are right about it missing here....we are soaked already!!

I'm a little north of the Toronto area in Canada and they are calling for strong wind and heavy rainfall for Friday... we've had quite a bit of rain, but not for a coupla days... our rivers are low right now too... which is a good thing... I hear Toronto is going to get hit harder than we are... and they keep downgrading the effects... I hope it's not the doosey they say it's going to be...

Stay dry, well and safe ....

Mouthy, if you will keep your cold weather in Canada, we will keep the hurricane down here in the US, somehow. Will figure out how later. Bug

Well...............one of you was supposed to come to Seattle this week on business, and have lunch with Rachel and me today. He called on Monday to say he needed to stay home so as not to leave his family alone if the hurricane hit back there. Smart man.

For those of you in the South Western Ontario region (Greater Toronto Area and area bordered by Guelph/ Burlington east to Toronto and north up to and including Barrie):

I am on the disaster relief committee of the Canadian Red Cross for the above areas. If you run into any trouble or difficulties as a result of this storm I may be in a position to direct you to immediate resources and/or aid.

Please pm me and I will provide you contact information that can be used to reach me during the weather alert.

The cool part is that if the Canadian Bethel needs help from community resources as a result of the storm, guess who they will need to work with? heh heh heh
