Like I said, mindless behavior....idiots.

It is always easier to kill an animal, then a person to blame themselves for their own stupidity.

It's estimated that there are only 4,000 of these animals left and their dwindling population faces almost certain extinction.
Such as stupid waste.

That is the problem with many people though, they don't give a damn about anything but themselves, what they can do, what they want. Buddy probably thinks he is some kind of hero to shoot an animal in a cage, takes a lot of guts I guess, to put a gun through some fencing and kill an animal that can't get away or defend itself.
Poor damn thing sounds like it was starving.

ignorance is strength
The soldier who went into the cage was actually drunk. What a great
occupationliberation force the US Army is! Reminds you of the days when the Nazis were in Paris, no? -
Simon
There was a report of UK soldiers who got drunk and shot each other (well, one shot another and then shot himself)
I don't think why they are there has much bearing on it - it's the same as any moron going into a zoo anywhere in the world and doing it (although you'd hope they were trying to 'be good' to build some bridges)

thats the problem with soldiers, goverments put them in tense, dangerous situations where they have to be alert for hours, sometimes days at a time, so when they get off duty they relax too much sometimes and do stupid things.
Of course, no-one but soldiers ever do stupid things, so maybe their should be no soldiers in the world.........anywhere.
Perhaps a letter campagn to all the counties in the world with men/women under arms can solve this problem, I am sure they will all take serious note and do something, after all, it is self evident that we do not need the military in any way shape or form, public opinion has made the military redundant, and we can get along without them just fine.
Peace in the World....................Maybe.

True, my comments were made completely out of disdain for the American military and economic machine (but the people are quite nice).

Everyone does stupid things ... but I believe "guns" should be ranked alongside dangerous machinery that should not be operated while under the influence.
If some lumberjack had got drunk and minced the tiger with a chainsaw I think I'd have the same dim view of them.
