FBI Reports Violent Crime Down Last Year
POSTED: 9:45 am EDT October 25, 2004
WASHINGTON -- The FBI said the number of violent crimes declined last year.
Its annual crime report shows there were just under 1.4 million crimes of murder, manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault in 2003. That's 3 percent less than in 2002 and more than 25 percent less than in 1994.
However, it said the number of murders in the country was up. It said there were 16,503 slayings reported to police last year -- a 1.7 percent increase from 2002.
Also, the FBI said property crimes such as burglary and theft were down slightly.

HEART
(Damn Yankees)(You gotta have heart, you gotta have heart)
You've gotta have heart
All you really need is heart
When the odds are sayin
You'll never win
That's when the grin should start
You've gotta have hope
Mustn't sit around and mope
Nothins half as bad as it may appear
Wait'll next year and mope
When your luck is battin zero
Get your chin up off the floor
Mister you can be a hero
You can open any door
There's nothin to it but to do it
You gotta have heart
Miles and miles and miles of heart
Oh it's fine to be a genius of course
But keep that old horse before the cart
First you've gotta have heart
You've gotta have heart
All you really need is heart
(When the odds are sayin you'll never win
That's when the grin should start)
You've gotta have hope
Mustn't sit around and mope
Nothins half as bad as it may appear
Wait'll next year and mope
When your luck is battin zero
