  minimus - -I know of a number of witnesses who are embarrassed offering the Watchtower -- as it makes it obvious they are witnesses but they are less embarrassed by offering the Awake which is a little more neutral and does not have Jehovahs name on the front -- so somebody offering just the awake does not surprise me

  That's true. I always tried to present on the Awake and slip the Watchtower behind it. For some reason, I never remember presenting just one, it was always in pairs. I just focused on one. I'm trying to think too, whether I had any choice in the matter in ordering magazines or whether your order amount applied to both magazines.

  The Watchtower always had this dark cloud over it that scared people away. The Awake usually had lighter "human interest" stories that were easier to strike up a conversation with than some obviously biblical topic.

  That is so true!! I think another thing that comes into play is it's easier to place Awakes rather than Watchtowers. They get to fill in the number 2 on their monthly report.

  I did it because the Watchtower embarrassed me.

  You know what, I can't remember what I said in presenting the mags, my mind has successfully erased the old memories of witnessing. I seem to remember only the things I liked about the JW life, like some of the friends when I was young. I guess that's why I don't hate the WT like some I see on here, I just left because I wanted to, not because of any bad experiences that hurt me.

  What exactly does their race have to do with your experience? Was it your first time meeting a black witness?

  In answer to your question, the reason why I mentioned anything about race, is because every person she targeted with the AWAKE was black.....everyone except me......Beryl, are you like ahhhhhh still inebriated?

  This past week I saw this Witness again "preaching". She used the same "presentation" and targeted a select group. After approximately 30 minutes, not 1 person accepted the Awake! and she just got up and walked away.
