Death - the downside of having friends...

    Today I helped bury a friend, and in a few minutes I'll be leaving to attend the Wake of another, who died yesterday.

    I have less than a handful of friends from pre-exJW days (nothing new there - we're all in a similar boat, I'm sure), so my more recently acquired friends are precious to me.
    For those that I count as friends (which obviously includes a number on this board), please let it be known that you are precious to me.

    I've helped bury about six, during this last year (I hope that doesn't put anyone off from befriending me). Every one has been like a hammerblow

    Regardless of beliefs, or lack thereof, death is still an enemy to the living and the dead (IMHO).

    With that sombre note, I must away...

    so sorry (((((((((LT)))))))

    sobering thought to have to look at death and your own eventuality.

    Life is difficult.

    and yes, friends we have now are very precious.

    *but still wondering why so many of your friends are not having a good year!* hmmmm something to do with LT????

    Sorry to hear of this LT. So many in such a short time. Puts one's own mortality into perspective, not to mention the importance of telling those close to you that you love them.

    I am really thinking of you .

    I lost Jem and my Dad in the last couple of months, I really feel the rawness that comes from Death.

    Sincere Regards

    My heart goes out to you {{{LT}}}

    Losing people who you love, people who's lives are entangled with your own creates an unspeakable sorrow. I know you are a writer so I hope all of those good memories and deep love will come pouring out in some creative wave. That way you have constructed your own memorial or better yet temple to the memories. When you love deeply the memories will always give pain as much as when alive they gave you joy.
