Time to crack the stuffiness out of ourselves today. Well...let's say, everyday.

I'm going to have some fun here, because well, anything besides that, is no fun.

Questions, questions, and more questions, and what will the answers be? You decide.

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking?

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth?

I'm just having some fun here, but of course, I will take it upon myself, to answer my own posted questions.

This is not information that will be compiled and used against/for anything or anybody.

Keep in mind, this is light hearted. Have some fun with this.

Thank you to anyone who replies to this thread.

    Here we go:

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking? Yes I'm an exJW, but I'm do not adhere to any WTS thinking.

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW? Yes, I am 'out' there. I am not afraid to be seen on THIS site or any other apostate site. I posted on Francois' post a few weeks ago, and my name is there.

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle? Used to be, but no longer. But can understand why some are.

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future? Big accomplishment for me, is to NOT believe in Armageddon, period. I don't believe in it at all.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so? No details necessary, but thinking that if I lead a clean god-fearing lifestyle, that my notions and feelings would be taken care of, or how shall I say it 'removed' from me by: going out in service, pioneering, attending meetings (extra when necessary), heartfelt prayer, studying more and more and more...and yet, nothing ever changed. It hit me right there and then, no matter what you do for Jehovah, um...nothing is ever going to change who you are. We can put on a good public face, but aside from that, you are you, even if it means 'living a lie', which makes you MISERABLE.

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible? No. I don't believe it.

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power? No.

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa) Yes, you have to. People are people. Attacking them, or perhaps trying to dissuade them, is sometimes counterproductive. Do your own gig, accept differences, agree to disagree....one should hope to get along nicely with others.

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc. No. But I do believe some exJWs think that their bums don't smell. We're all apostates to some degree folks, and in the WTS eyes, we're all gonna die the second death. Extends a hand.....who's the christian now?

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required) No, left in the fall of 1983.

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth? If for nothing else, a nice diversion from some of the consternation and upheaval. Have fun, enjoy the forum and if you can: participate in assisting Vicki Boer. Thank you.

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking?

ExJW, but no remnants of former JW thinking. It took me a while to rid myself of all of them, but I'm clean now. Honest.

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?

Out there, yes. I've got my own personal stalker *waves* who passes info to my JW family. I'm not afraid of this, because they know I'm out and disbelieving. It's more of an annoyance, because I value the peace and quiet in my life. Phone calls from my somewhat unstable mother do not help.

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?

Not angry about the beliefs, but angry at the abuse. I'm more "regretful" if that's a word. Wishing I could have experienced growing up in a "normal" way. Wishing I could have experienced the wonder of Christmas as a kid. Stuff like that.

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?

    Nope.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?

When the elders told my sexually abusive father that it was OK, he could remain an elder because it was so long ago; that it didn't matter that he'd lied about it for 25 years.

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?

No/no. I occasionally discuss/debate it with friends who do believe in it, so I may look up a verse here or there to debate with them.

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?

I'm an apathetic agnostic...I don't know if there's something out there, and I don't really care.

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)

Of course. To each his own. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, and I try really hard not to think badly of anyone, no matter what they believe or don't believe. I have friends who are Christian and friends who are athiest. My husband is athiest. It doesn't matter.

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.

No. I'm just glad they're out.

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)

No. DF'd nearly 3 years now.

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth?

Someone please take this bag of crisps away from me. I can't seem to stop eating them.

    Hey, you're posting Minimus-style questions!!!

    ....ok, I'll bite:

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking?

I don't believe so, although it's hard to know what is JW thinking and what is normal upbringing. I don't regard everything JW-related as bad, eg. it kept me off drugs and sex as a teenager.

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?

Due to still having family who are JWs, I am not as "out there" as I would like to be. Online anyway. Offline I am more open about myself.

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?

No, never felt bitter, just relieved that things what I had suspected about the WTS were true.

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?

No. In fact, even as a JW I lost belief in Armageddon coming. At least in my lifetime. Now, I don't believe in it at all.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?

Probably the 607BCE lie. Once that was dismantled, everything else fell away too.

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?

    No.

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?

    Yes.

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)

Yes, why not? I don't believe in anything so passionately that I need to "prove" my opinion is better than anyone else's.

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.

Not really, although if there were some circumstances in their past that are less than savory, I may be inclined to make some personal judgement ie. Someone who was df'd for child molestation, cheated on their wife and ran off with the secretary, leaving the wife alone to raise a handicapped child.

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)

    Nope.

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth?

    Have a nice day.

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking?

I'm an exJW, but still working out what I believe and want out of life. I think at the minute I do still have remnants but am working hard to get rid of them.

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?

I'm not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, my dad has already told everyone that I'm here.... and although I haven't done an introductory post you can find most things about me in a post somewhere.

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?

I've only stopped attending meetings in the last month so am still very bitter and angry. Although revenge is a dish best served cold......

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?

    No, never did.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?

The lack of love. I never really fully believed so the doctinal issues don't mean much to me but I have seen first hand many times how unloving they can be, and getting df'd was the final push.

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?

    No/No

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?

No, I think each person has power in themselves. I have strong beliefs, but these don't include having to give worship to anything.

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)

Yes. Thats one of the I didn't like about jws, that they didn't accept people could have different oppinions.

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.

No. People are only df'd for not toeing thw wt party line. The other reasons are only why they got into a jc not why they were df'd.

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)

    No

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking?

Nope! In fact, I'm not going to conform to everyone else's way of answering in red. I refuse ever follow a crowd again!

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?

Couldn't care less. My father won't go near the internet and my mom wouldn't be surprised.

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?

A little of all three. Not at individual witnesses though, at the society itself.

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?

    No.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?

I've talked about it before and I don't want to anymore. Let's just say gawd left me, I didn't leave it.

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?

If I'm REALLY bored I might crack it open but, I don't believe it's inspired.

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?

The only thing I really believe in anymore is me.

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)

People are free to believe whatever they want. It only bothers me when they spout off phrases such as "we all know". If it wasn't for others challenging my beliefs I wouldn't be where I am today so I think a little confrontation can be a good thing.

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.

I agree with Prisca. As long as they didn't hurt anyone else, I don't care. I've probably done worse things than most people but, I never got caught.

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)

    Heck no!

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth?

Gadget's gonna be a Jedi in less than a month the way he's going!

Prisca, these are not "Minimus-style" questions. They are MY questions over the last year and a half.....That's what makes this such a GREAT thread......a comment: I still believe in "god" and I don't want to be faithless but I can "prove" nothing.
