    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking? Very little. For example, I adhere to the JW teaching that Christmas and Easter do not have their origins in Christianity (so, on those holidays, I celebrate the Solstices with my pagan friends).

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW? There is no question in my mind that I am a "known apostate". How do I know? When the JWs work the territory in which I live, every bell in the building will ring except mine. I am certain that the territory card has a notation that reads "Apostate - Do Not Call".

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle? To a degree. I was a JW between the ages of 17 and 23. I feel swindled out of my formative years in which I was promised that "the end" would come (1975), and that I would gain immortality. I do not like being lied to.

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future? Yes, some time in the next two thousand years.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so? When I started Bible studies with the homeless and the mentally ill. I was actually told by my body of elders not to bring these people to the Kingdom Hall - those who needed it most!

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible? I study the Bible in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek, and have done so for more than 20 years. I recognize the Bible as an important Bronze Age historical document, but doubt its claims as the "inspired word of God."

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power? I struggle with this question. I want to believe in a Supreme Being, but currently have no basis on which to do so.

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa) We have all survived a common experience. It is up to each individual to find their own path. I try to make it a point to listen to the message, rather than the messenger. If those with opposing views are willing to engage me in intelligent discussion, I am always willing. Those who I cannot tolerate are individuals who have retained their JW-based bigotry.

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc. No.

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required) Good grief, no! I was disfellowshipped 23 years ago!

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth? Can't think of anything.

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking?

Only the basics ? don?t steal, cheat, etc. that are part of most religions

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?

No, I have family still in, and don?t want to ?rock the boat? of our relationship by being labeled an apostate .

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?

Yes, I feel it has limited my experiences, however, I can and have moved on .

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?

Not Armageddon in the way the JWs think, but definitely some big apocalyptic event, as has always happened throughout history.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?

Lots, probably the fact that I think their God is a horrible, egomaniacal entity.

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?

Haven?t read it, per se, in a long time, and definitely don?t believe it?s the word of God.

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?

    Most of the time, yes.

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)

    Totally

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.

    Not at all

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)

What, are you mad???? HELL NO!!!!!

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth?

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking?

Still in...agree with it more than disagree, but this whole nit-picking and unofficial exclusion crap has got to stop.

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?

Not really...I'm rather confrontational, and something like this could be what does it.

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?

Mostly the concieved differences between the world and the society. That stuff about "Witness families stay together" was obviously off. I've also never seen a group of people who can turn on you as quick as they do.

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?

Hey, my Buccaneers won the Super Bowl. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?

I was talking to a witness sister in my hall. Seemed interesting and interested in me. Then she ran down a checklist of what she expected out of a husband: Pioneer, good job, Hall building committee, servant...Then it dawned on me that nothing I've ever done in the faith was good enough...meanwhile, I put in the same effort at my school and get new teacher of the year.

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?

I'm looking at it with a skeptical (not cynical) eye. It's got some real wisdom still.

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?

    Without a doubt.

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)

    Of course.

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.

Only the really vile ones. Or, if they were really hypocritical (i.e. an elder that went on about materialism becoming a gambling addict)

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)

    Yes.

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth?

    Don't eat yellow snow.

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?

Most of the JW I know and Knew was kind of insensitive (on everything important or logical) ...

    1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking? Nope

    2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW? Not 100% no. I live with my parents still so I try to make it as easy on them as possible.

    3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle? Nope

    4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future? Nope

    5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so? This is a tough one: it was so many things all piled up. Double standards, the mentatlity of most JW's, the fact that other religions had nice people and nice ideas about God, the fact that if this was such a wonderful religion why did I wan nothing to do with it?

    6. Do you still read/believe in the bible? I believe it is a nice book written by dead guys who tried their best to understand the nature of existance.

    7. Do you still believe in god/higher power? Nope

    8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa) Yes. I envy people like LT and Megadude for having a strong faith when I find it impossible to. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have something like that. But the more I search, the more convinced I am there is nothing but the here and now. And that doesn't bother me like it used to. I am at peace with that.

    9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc. LOL...people actually do this??

    10. Are you still a JW? (no names required) On a technicality--I never was one. I never took the dip.

    11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth? My cat's breath smells like cat food!
