Shiloh you used a great approach, no pressure tactics. You put your friend in a position to think! Yes, she will sleep on it.

my grandmother never believed that her own son would abuse his daughter (vicki, me). She called me a liar and much more. Even when she came to the trial and heard the elders go into details about the abuse, she still would not believe me. Sometimes people just choose not to believe. But we should be so glad that we are not like that.

    thanks

    Off topic.. but...

The press release says Vivki Boer is a former Jehovah's Witness. Is that strictly correct??

I believe Vicki was disfellowshipped for not keeping this issue quiet, that's why she's an xjw.

I too had some family members that absolutely refused to believe too. Belief would have meant changing their dealings with the person. Denial is strong. And it can hurt very much, to be thought a liar.

I'm glad you have found love and supporters in other areas of your life like I have.

    Hello Vicki,

I had family members who believed me.........but that didn't alter their opinion of the molester. "Well, it didn't happen to ME, did it?"

I think that's human nature for some. Sorry it happened to you too - is a tough one. But it's their freedom to feel how they want........and us to feel how we want.

I'm confused about the disfellowshipping matter. I was under the impression that Hawk said you were a jw still in good standing (in name only).

If you were df''d, when was that? Before you brought suit against the elders?

Please don't feel you have to answer unless you want. We're just glad to see you here! Btw, I heard that you met a friend of mine - hope it helped in some small way. If not, at least we're trying!
