Congratulations to Big Tex. No more of this now !

Guess we'll have to wait until the evening hours now to catch his words of wisdom.

CJ will have some words of wisdom and encouragement for you. She's been down a similar path.

In the meantime keep up the .....

Whoa Nina!!! The grim reaper isn't on your door step just yet. My mother had osteoporosis, and lived to be 86 years old, and she didn't have the quality medical care you are apparently receiving. She was one of those who were born in 1914 and lived thru 1975 and medical treatment wasn't her most important issue. With you staying on top of the problem, you will live to be a hundred, at least I hope so.

Me too, Shutterbug!!! I'd love to live to be 100, if I can have all of my mental faculties and a motorized wheelchair.

Thank you all for your kinds words and advice. I had two glasses of Chianti last night and awoke feeling much better about the whole thing. Now I've got double incentive to work out, and not just that I want to look like Heidi Klum, uh, healthy -- yeah, that's it!

    Love you all!

Well, congrats to BT on the job....I don't know if I could have ever handled the schedule he had before. Good news there.

And Nina, don't worry too much. Everything's going to be fine.

No matter what, your picture sure doesn't look like you're 48. I'd have guessed ten to fifteen years younger. If you're close to the grim reaper, then I'm already there----(that means you're not close)

(((((((Nina))))))))) sorry about your doctors appointment, I can definitely relate. I had endometriosis that I had to deal with for years before I had my uterus removed. I still have my ovaries. It came down to finally deciding that I had had enough laproscopies and finally went for the removal. I also had a fibroid that would cause me so much pain every couple of months that it felt like I was in the last stages of child birth. But that nasty thing is gone too. Six years later after surgery I'm fine.

Congrats on Big Tex's day job.

    Nina,

My heart goes out to you . You can never be prepared to hear something like that from your doctor. Just curious, why can't they just remove the fibroids? Are there any other options? What about a second opinion? Usually a Hyst. is the last option - my Dr. actually presented that to me (and I was only 21 at the time), now I am on some heavy duty birth control to balance my hormones and to control the pain.

Glad to hear that Tex will be home at nights :) My husband was going to work 3rd shift, but finally found an alternate. It will be so nice for you to have him home! Plus the kids will love it!

Good luck to you and keep your head up :)

    Hey Cruzanheart..

    sorry about your doctors report..

Some of the responses here, tend to suggest to me, that you can build bone density back up..

and I know there are exercises to to for the abdominal muscles so that your back is better supported by muscle.

Going back to the Gym would probably be a good idea.

I go about 4 times a week and alternate weight training.. HOWEVER, I've been thinking of visiting a professional fitness trainer to get a more specific program tailored for me.. First I'll pay for an assessment and then she works out a workout program for you.. and then you go back and see her in 6 to 8 weeks and see how your doing or what needs modifying.

Hey.. NINA.. if all else fails.. maybe we could borrow a couple of our kids "bionicle parts" and put those in..haha.

Glad to hear your husband is on day work.. I hated it when my husband worked evening or graveyard shift too.

I'm sorry but I don't know anything about the fibroid turmors although I have heard of them..I'm sure you'll do some internet research on that one.

    take care

    sincerely

I had two glasses of Chianti last night and awoke feeling much better about the whole thing.

at least you'll be able to protect yourself from heart disease that way !

I'm sorry about your health problems, exercise is the best for osteoporosis, make sure you get the easily absorbable form of calcium.

It's great that Tex will be home evenings, that means he'll be doing the housework for you??

    For Nina:and hugs
