Not everyone is in a position to be 'known' ... perhaps because of friends and family and fear of retaliation by the WTS and they DO retaliate.
Having said that. Once you get over the fear, it's actually quite liberating not being worried about it. It means you are past the stage of being afraid of them for any reason.

Personally I don't make much of an effort to be anonymous. But then again if some wacko did try to track me down, well it won't be easy.
I can fully understand others' reasons for remaining anonymous. There's over 6 million wacko's they need to hide from here. Since the subject has been brought up, I'd like to add my $.02. There's a lot of threads where we all share stories from our past (or sometimes current) congregations. Y'all be VERY careful when doing so. Details in those stories, even without mentioning names or cities, could lead to someone being "outed".

As it is, I am already flirting with the legal aspects of hosting the BOE letters(already received one letter from their legal dept). Not sure what the ramifications would be if my ISP was ever forced to reveal my name to Patterson.
Can't you have the site hosted by a foreign ISP?

People can enter in here from just about any country, that includes peadophiles, rapists, etc. Did you know some people in Prison have access to the internet?
Try to find yourself on the internet using a few basic facts such as county and surname and I don't mean in a search engine. It is easier than you think.
This is about the internet in general, not this site.

I am still anonymous for one person only - my mother. I take care of her and don't want to put her in a bad situation - she's in her 70's and she just needs to be loved and cared for. So I have decided to remain under wraps until she has passed on.
