avengers:
What is relevant is that often pedophiles visit nudist resorts.
And they stand in sight of school gates, and in the lobby of Ikea where they can see children play in the creche, and they walk down the street and go into the shops where all the children like to go. By your logic all this is also relevent.
As you said nudism is a family issue? Is that so? I am aware of the fact that people go to nudist resorts and take explicit pictures of children. This person puts this on the internet and the pedophiles can download these images. I don't know if you are aware of this?
Do you mean explicit = naked? I would acknowledge that a paedophile might use a naked photo of a child for explicit purposes; but then they can use ANY photo of a child for those purposes, even ones in mail-order catalogues. If by explicit you mean more than just naked, then the paedophile is already talking to them and posing them, which is obviously already a situation where abuse of the child has started, and obviously a situation which can and does occur anywhere no matter what clothes the child is or is not wearing.
Therefore, and I have tried to address this issue earlier (which got 0) I ask myself if nudism does not instigate pedophily.
If it does, by that logic, many native societies would have been wholey paedophiliac. By your logic naked = sex. This is obviously not the case, even if you as an individual associate nudity with sex.
I myself see a rapist as a predator and I see a pedophile also as a predator. If these unbalanced persons visit nudist beaches and are unable to get in a normal way as you say the things that are really normal, well. we have a problem.
No, we don't have a problem... you actually seem to view nakedness as a sexual act. It isn't. Nakedness is just not having clothes on; it has nothing to do with sex.
The people you speak about have this problem ANYWAY, wherever they go, with clothed children; the problem is NOT on the nudist beach, it's in the mind of the paedophile.
... and your comment to zen nudist:
That's WT reasoning. Guess that makes it allright.
Come on avengers; if you have issues over this, then, okay. But the argument you are making is not sound, and says more about your sexualisation of nudity in general than about the increased risk of children to abuse in envirnoments identical to other envirnoments in all respects other than that of clothing. Going for the 'ah, WT think' is fine if you can make that comment in a valid way; your unsound association of a problem with an activity is actually more WT-esque that zen nudist!
Having spent two weeks at a family nudist resort in the South of France this year, with my girlfriend, one thing I was struck with was the LACK of cameras. I only saw one mum taking photos of her kids at the pool; and they being were taken to exclude any other children by the pool from being in the background. I took some photos of my girlfriend in the sea, and was scrupulous about taking them in a quiet streach of the beach where no-one else's privacy would be disturbed.
Anyone NOT conforming to these standards of consideration would stick-out like a sore thumb. Also, whilst one can never tell if someone smiling at your kids in the park is sexually aroused by them; in a nudist neach other things stick out like sore thumbs that give the game away...
I'm not saying that the camp site we were at is representative, but from my reading and talking with people, any casual attitudes within the naturist community that would have lead to increased dangers from sexual predators are a thing of the past. I certainly don't know of any evidence pointing to children at nudist camps being more at risk of abduction.
Likewise, as in any portion of society where there are children, the increased awareness of people in society as a whole regarding the risks of sexual predators means that, as elsewhere, there is increased awareness of dangers from people infiltrating a community or selecting a job due to their deviant sexual interests.
This is not a cast iron assurance that nothing could ever happen, but you don't get that anywhere, and there is no proof of any increased risk, not even any logical indication of increased risk.
To make this association between nudism and paedophilia is to, once again, put the 'blame' on the victim; ah, the little girl was naked, it's her fault/her parent's fault/nudist's fault. Not so. It's the paedophiles fault, just as it's the rapists fault when a woman gets raped when she's wearing a short skirt. Do people normally get fat because they live in a society with McDOnald's, or do people normally get fat because they eat too much?
