What's everyone interested in? Swimming? Fishing? Boating? Hiking - how rugged??? Rock climbing ok? We've got some nice cliffs along the Bruce trail with Koa campgrounds nearby.

Ray, you're coming even if we have to tie you up and haul you in the back of my truck! There will be suitable accomadations, don't worry about that. And lots of BEER!!!

    Walter

Time for another beer. DAMN, do I hate dialup!!!

Walter - one with swimming, a playground (for the kiddies), fishing & hiking would be perfect

(course if it has a swimming pool/hot tub combination - even better!

How far are you willing to drive? There are some nice places along Lake Huron and the Bruce Peninsula.
    Here's some links:

    Koa near Owen Sound

Then, there's Evergreen Resort near Wiarton.

It's owned by Dubs, and they sometimes have a Sunday morning Watchtower study in the dining room that we could disrupt. Hahaha!!! Ok, sorry, just kidding. Yeah, I'm a sicko. But at least they have a whirlpool!!!

    I'll try to find more.

There is an awesome park in NWO called Sleeping Giant. We have some awesome biking and hiking trails, that take you to the top of the giant, with spectacular views of Lake Superior. http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/slee.html

And I hear Pancake Bay near Sault St. Marie is also a nice park . http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/panc.html

Click on the "Group Camping" icon to get a list of all campsites.

A word of caution here from a very serious camper. Park reservations in Ontario can be made up to 5 months in advance, so if you don't make a reservation, at the earliest possible date AND time, you will find that sites you may have picked for reservations, are gone. This is very true for the more popular parks, especially on long weekends, and july to august. CJ and I will begin internet reserving for May holiday before Christmas.

Group sites which are usually the best for occasions like you have planned, are only reservable at some parks by calling the park directly, and not by using the internet reservation or toll-free number.

Know anyone with property up there to camp on? It would be more private, less rules, and more flexible. Rent porta-shitters, and share the cooking.

Hell, I might even take a ride up.

We were discussing the Camp-Fest for next year - and it was suggested that we do it in Maine - therefore those from the Eastern seaboard, Nova Scotia, Toronto & even Michiganders can make it with a little effort -

What do you think? If you're interested - please let me know ASAP, so I can start to look into group rates for campgrounds!.

Or, if it doesn't look feasible, we can do the smaller group thing.
