    Hey Logan...

I'm not sure if you're still in school this year (as I haven't chatted with you for a while) but I always found that a good Prof at school would always be of help when writing papers and such. Sometimes I found the criticism harsh, but by all means necessary in some cases. I always thought of myself as someone who could write well ( I even found myself editing some papers for my friends) but it sure was a rude awakening in university, so sometimes criticism is a good thing.

    Good Luck, Dottie

Sorry to disagree, dottie, but I found my profs to be the worst - outdated and usually very self-gratifying - best reference was a 'Dictionairy of Style"

Check the latest business references - they are up-to-date, accepted business styles change frequently.

"On Writing Well" This book changed the way I write and think.

True, Scooby, Logan's writing is very fine. I get compliments on my writing style, too. But I do have a desire towards excellence, and I intend to push my art as far as it will go. Not for the acclaim of others, but towards a personal goal of excellence.

I sense the same motives here, from Logan.

You might want to give these a look.

    Zinsser's - On Writing Well

For something completely different, highly recommended

I was curious about Euph's reccomendation, so I did a search for the title, "Write To The Point."

There's BUNCHES of books with that same title! A bit more investigation, however, disclosed that Bill Stott is the author of the book you (might) want.

    Here's a site with several reccomendations: http://wls.wwco.com/writing/

The fact that you WANT to improve means you're off to a good start - many very poor writers refuse to seek improvement.

The AP style book is a good place for a consistent reference. Also tips in the back about libel.

Read what you want to write. Plays, poetry, horror. Read, then write.
