The Preaching Work Is The Biggest Scam Happening On Jehovah's Witnesses!

What Blondie said. In my experience, JW's are taught what to say. It is implied that the householder would not have any intelligent or unexpected response to the presentation. The watchtower materials are all designed to distribute information one-way. The WT site is designed to present information one-way. That kind of information dissemination is not dialogue.

jgnat, you will find that this is compounded by the way sisters prepare for the Theocratic Ministry School. The sister assigned to give the talk writes up an "outline" along with prepared responses for the sister assigned to be her householder. They practice this until each one knows their prepared comments and answers to the comments. Like we go to the door and hand the person the answers they are supposed to give to our questions. So the talks are scripted. It is not surprising that when sisters go door to door they are unprepared when the person does not answer the way they expected them to.

Blondie (who never scripted any talk she gave)

Searcher....I guess I could say don't confuse what imperfect mankind does today compared with the historical Biblical record of the Scriptures.....if u want to dispute the Bible of course thats a different topic altogether!

JayHawk, you are right Jesus went out to the people, engaging them wherever he could. That was his commision to the disciples as well. To go and make disciples of people in all the nations. I find the JWs unique in this example, just because a door may be empty or hostile, it does not diminish the purpose or reason behind the commision. I cannot answer your claim that JWs would rather accomplish as little as possible in this work, I can only answer from what I have experienced.

Guilt placed on them by the WT? I really don't think that holds up either. Witnesses are human at the end of the day and no more like abuse than the next person, yet thet fulfill their commision, and in some instances under brutal regimes around the world where they have experienced bitter persecution, yet maintained their stand.

The bible IS part of this discussion.

To base what the JW's do on bible precepts, is to automatically give complete validity to the bible, and the JW's interpretation of it.

That is where I am getting my information. I only write about JW topics based on my own experience. So we are coming from the same place.

About guilt... have you ever filled out a time slip? Have you ever been goaded to get in your minimal 8 hours each month? I am not saying there are not brave JWs out there who truely love Jehovah, but the ordinary JW does not actually want to go in the door to door work. Do you want proof? I can name about 75 Jehovah's Witnesses 8 miles (15 km) from my house who couldn't care less if they ever preached again. How do I know this? Because I went out door to door with each of them and their actions spoke louder than the words I type. There was never a Saturday that I spent 4 hours in service and could honestly count 1 hour in actual preaching.

Jesus would be ashamed, I know I was.

I remember Scoob Everyone has a stand somewhere, its cool.

My point though, and my reason for posting to this thread having never been a JW, is that the bible, or the JW interpretation of the bible,(or anyone else's) could easily be based on the imperfect memories/reasoning, of imperfect men.

Remember, even ' gods channel ' has admitted many times that they are imperfect men.

So.........the instruction to preach to the world, could be based on a false memory/reasoning, as could the method of that preaching.

There is more to this discussion than what the organisation interprets, what that interpretation is based on is also part of the equation.

Enjoy your cheese on toast (one of my favourites) and sleep well.

Witnesses are taught that if it wasn't for the anointed remnant "taking the lead" in the ministry, those of the "other sheep" would not follow and thus do this "life-saving preaching work".......We all know that the "anointed" are supposed to be so old that they can't even get out of bed, never mind, "take the lead in the ministry". These "anointed" are "locusts" in the same way the "great crowd" are like "moths"......Yeah, tell everyone that you can, that the end of the system is "right around the corner. Times are URGENT". (You've got another 30 plus years to get on track)........If Jehovah doesn't get YOU to preach, all the world will die...ah ha.
