  To a casual observer this board may be nothing more than text on a screen, but as far as X-JW's go, boards like this could almost be called an "essential service". Disillusioned people leave the cult for one reason or another, are treated as though they're dead by their family and former friends, and somehow, have to rebuild their lives. Here we meet others who've "been there" and can offer support. We correspond with posts, then PM's, and Internet messaging. We start to phone one another, and often get to meet in person. We begin to develop a "support network" of friends, that sometimes become closer than family. We've seen beautiful relationships develop here, and sometimes even romances and marriage. I personally have met a number of great people on the board, some of whom have, over time, become closer than family to me. You all know who you are. Last week we had an apostofest here in Toronto, and there were people who visited from eastern Canada, Michigan, and Florida, as well as many from Ontario. That meetup would never have taken place had it not been for this board. Most of us would never have known one another.

  Hey E-Man I hate to tell you this but that race for the bathroom can be very serious business when you have been drinking beer with your fellow 'POZTATES' all day long.

  On another serious note we do indeeed owe Simon,Angharad and the mods a debt of gratitude for all their efforts in maintaining this site for our benefit.I know it has helped me greatly with issues I faced with the WT,both in resolving and also just being able to talk them out.

  May this site continue to flourish and provide aid to those earnestly seeking 'THE TRUTH'.

  When Simon & I finally actually saw each other.....we just kinda looked at each other - like....this is what you REALLY look like?

  Simon comes across as "just a guy." It's hard to imagine him keeping this forum up and running quite smoothly (overall), having a computer job, keeping up with his lovely Ang & 2 rowdy boys. Quite a bit for just another guy kinda guy.

  Simon's amazing in that a just another guy kinda guy has accomplished a massive victory over the WTBTS.....he's given us a place to go before, during & after leaving the WTBTS. Literally thousands of xjw's have shared in this gift he's given us freely - however long our visit here.

  Thanks Simon......you damned imperfect man you.

  It's so nice to see how much appreciation we have for Simon and Ang. You 2 sacrifice quite a bit while trying to organize a website that in my opinion is the best out there. Too often we focus on the negatives about people. When we keep in perspective the good that results from this board and its operator, we ought to remind ourselves every once in a while that this forum can help save lives. I remember when it was veering off into a more negative discussion forum that was characterized with many angry, abusive and foul words. Now, this is not tolerated. The site has become a place of support for many needy Witnesses and exWitnesses. So many new ones come here because, overall, it's a friendly place where anyone can talk without feeling inferior. JWD, under Simon Green has evolved into a powerful site.....Keep up the good work!!!

  Ok, My turn,

  It like this from waiting:

  And Angharad is meek, soft spoken and a humble young mother. It was a pleasure having their family stay with us.

  Not only have both invested time and money into this board but probably no one else has taken as much abuse for their contribution to it. That is best forgotten but probably hard for them.

  As for Simon's politics, look out Eman. I ussually agree with him. His greatist flaw in this regard is not keeping it to himself.
