    Interestingly I typed in the following phrase "retirement among the elderly" in the Watchtower Online Library and got only one match, an article on why people give up on life:

    If its true I'm willing to bet this took place in a developing country where the local culture of respect for elders was the motivating factor, perhaps they were distantly related....guarantee it had naff all to do with JW brotherly " love"😉

    Retirement     and physical illness are also major triggering factors, especially among the elderly. Often suicide is chosen as a way out, ( REALLY OFTEN? IT HAPPENS A LOT? OFTEN MEANS A LOT!!!) not necessarily when an illness is terminal, but when the patient views the suffering as intolerable.

    However, not everybody reacts to these triggering events by committing suicide. (REALLY NOT EVERYONE? BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN LIVING ON MARS SO I THOUGHT I WAS NORMAL FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS ECONOMIC STRESS OR IS OLD JUST KILLS THEMSELVES - THANK FOR THE INSIGHT!)

    What kind of article is this? This type of writing could NEVER appear in any credible journal - let alone a High School Language Arts assignment! I HATE THE WT!

    So when other people have to take in the elderly because they didn't get an education ( banned by WT ) or a well paying job ( banned by WT ) and gave their youth to the WTBTS and it's false prophecies, it's now "Jehovah" providing?? Errr....O-kay..??? 😑

    Isn't Jehovah a loving God? He's directed his organisation to address the needs of all the poor souls who genuinely thought they'd never die. What loving counsel it is to tell them that if they're up a creek without a paddle it's because they've not got enough faith.
