I am sorry that you are having to deal with the continuing effects of the dub mentality.

I actually do not wish I could celebrate holidays as they seem to be a pain in the ass. I miss my family.......and it's at holidays you are ESPECIALLY reminded of the family that was taken from you.If my family could associate with me but yet still avoid the holidays.....I could deal with it much easier. I'm not against the holidays and would probably participate in them were my family not dubs......I just don't ENVY those who do participate.

Are you also without family today?

My parents who've encouraged me to get an education and helped to pay for it. A boyfriend who seems unreal. Brave men and women who answered their nations call. I also am thankful for a sweet dub friend that is sneaking over here today to celebrate her first thanksgiving behind her families back.

I have a few very close friends I met in the last few months, and I'm very thankful for them.

I'm thankful most for my family (and for the fact that they aren't dubs anymore, either).

I'm also thankful for the peace of mind that I have developed. I don't know that I would change my past if I could; but, I do know that I like the person I am today, and that past is a HUGE part of who I have become.

I'm also thankful for my sweetie who puts up with, and is helping me get over, my still present "dub tendencies" and loves me anyway!

This afternoon, I had my 1st Thanksgiving. My wife's family put out a wonderful spread! I am very thankful that they have been so support of my wife, especially...Plus the turkey was great!

I think there are many who would be supportive of anyone leaving the dubs.......if they knew anything about them. I'll bet her parents are happier than you know.

Now....all baloney aside...........how much did you have to drink and what kind of booze did you have?
