    Man Oh Man am I pissed? HEALTHCARE SUCKS!!!!!!

    So I was supposed to have an appointment today with a Orthapedic Doctor. I've been so excited because I thought 'great, now i'll know what exactly is wrong and get some answers as to where exactly I go from here.' His office called about half an hour ago and said he couldnt see me because he doesnt accept cash only patients and there isnt much he can do for me.

    I was in tears, partly because I'm in so much fucking pain right now, and partly because I was counting on that appointment. So now, not only am I out the $575 it cost at the county for x-rays, asperation, re-seting, a brace, and crutches. But now I'm off to the hospital again to get my kneww aspirated again and I'm going to have to pay cash AGAIN. Possibly ANOTHER $500. It SUCKS not having insurance

    I am sad again.

    p.s. I've taken 2 vicoden. Everything on my body is numb right now EXCEPT my F-N Knee

    ((((((((Chevy)))))))))

    I am sorry about your knee and the healthcare situation, too. Being without insurance is sure scary. (And so are those beautiful tile floors -- one of my daughters has stitches in TWO places from falls on tile floors!)

    My Thanksgiving horror story? One year I was having my mother and my husband's entire family (15 people plus our 5). My mother-, father-, sister-in-law and her daughter arrived the night before everyone else. I had cooked bullit (Spanish stew) -- my m-i-l's recipe -- for their 8 PM arrival. As I washed up, I broke a glass I was cleaning and sliced my thumb. My sis-in-law and I spent the rest of the evening in the ER.

    When the rest of the company came the next day, they made Thanksgiving dinner according to my instructions, because my hand hurt too much to accomplish too much myself. FIVE women were in the kitchen getting in one another's way. I thought it went rather well, but I must've been mistaken, because sis-in-law #2 bought me a present before they left for home: a red apron that reads "A Watched Cook always boils!"

    LOL

    (I have a worse one for a ruined Christmas dinner, but I may have posted that one before!)

    Feel better soon, Chevs!

    Seems you and Brummie have a few things in common and could use each other as a support pillar for one another.

    {{ hugging you both tight and wishing you well }}

    If it is any consolation for you two:

    I've had teeth pulled and a root canal. Also ruptured left petella tendon. Not to mention multiple surgeries in life, since birth...coupled with two c-sections.

    I can safely state that I am well aware of the amount of pain you're in...and wish I could ease it for you. Nurse

    Sincerely, sKally
