No... my best ever post, which is as good as a coffin buried deep in this database has few replies, someone said they would make it a favorite. Thats the way it goes if everyone relies on searching for active topics.
It depends on when it's posted sometimes and who is on at the time. I also find I tend to ignore posts that have large (or lacking) paragraphs.
I get a lot of PMs and emails from people letting me know my threads are well read and helpful. They rarely get more than a page of posts but I think the page views are a far better indicator they are being read.
Placing value on a thread solely based on number of posts would be in accurate for some threads and perhaps very accurate for others
Guess it depends on what is in the thread
Something else needs to be said.
Sometimes, you read a thread and you think, yes I agree with that. But you don't feel the urge to post. You have an audience whether the post gets flamed or not.
LOL donkey.......well we'll see ..............
Not really . As ballistic said, sometimes i read a thread and don't feel i have really any thing extra to add. Other times, perhaps the subject material is so "deep" that i feel unqualifed to respond.. . Some of the threads that got the most responses were about nothing at all. People who are friends tend to support each others threads. I used to worry that no one would respond to my threads. But i stopped that, i just post what i want, and if any care to respond, great. Also, the time of day, if it is posted in the night(her in usa) well by am it may be buried deep. I tend to look at the active threads. Sometimes i will go back 3-4 pages, but not any more than that, usually As Lady Lee says(and i always read her posts) ppl read your posts but don't comment on the board but will comment privately. .
Donkey.... what happend to your donkey (avatar)?
I was hoping no one responded to this post...the irony and all...oh well.
No, numbers of responses can't be used to rate a post ALL the time.
usually When I want a thread to die I respond, and it usually does. That is the way it goes. I've been around for 3 years +/-. Most of the people here are new or changed their names. The older ones have worked out their problems and have moved on. So don't worry about fitting in. Hell, if you don't know anyone except through posting here there isn't much to build on anyway. You always have the know it alls, the I don't carers, and those that need their egoes petted. So just post & get the crap out of your system.
