Of course the difference with leaving the groups you mention SBF, is that you can do so with your dignity still in place.

I am sure that many more J.W's would fade away if that were possible with the Org, but no, however you leave, and whatever the truth of why you did, your reputation will be trashed.

The decline has been noted for years however these numbers don't show the last couple years. It will remain to be seen if things have leveled off or if decline continues post covid. I can tell you the local church I belong to has increased over the last two years.

Also, keep in mind most of the decline happened in the mainline churches which are more liberal. Social upheaval such as the "gay" issue has caused many to leave for more conservative versions. How this all plays out will take years to truly see.

Regardless, there will always be people who seek God as alternatives prove to be unsatisfying.

DropoffYerKeyLeeIt is an historic African American Church that was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Now it has only 8 attendees, a few of them are quite old. It's awful to see happen, but the demographic changes are unrelenting.

Absolute travesty. Crying shame some of that "Black lives Matter" money didn't find it's way to such a worthy cause, instead of lining the pockets of random trans women drag artists 🙄

It is easier to pump up numbers in 3rd world countries. "Open air" kingdom halls using benches for seats. No internet or groups like this one in the native language. Wider acceptance of what a "publisher" is- many semi-illiterate members fuzzy on exactly WHAT the doctrines are. ie: everyone "partakes".

From personal observations and local feedback in California, about half of the publishers miss most or all meetings since COVID, pretending to tune in online. The majority of JW kids have drifted away. The 4th generation of my 200+ JW family is mostly gone.

Quakers once common, are rare. Christian Scientists are rare. In time, JWs will be rare in the USA. IMO.

In another year a lot of senior bearded older elders will begin to look more and more Amish. Jw message will be befuddled by their confusing appearance. Santa Claws comes to mind.

Once again, the membership numbers are irrelevant if the problems the Org is having aren’t actually membership-related.
