I saw a bio on Benny Hill recently. He worked very hard on his material, and was really quite a simple man. You would think for as naughty as he was on TV that he would have been a bit wild, but in a lot of ways he was like Scrooge. Very frugal, simple same meal almost every day. Spent much of his time at home reading and working on material. Interesting anyway.

I liked Benny Hill too...though I think Benny was made for those who found the Monty Python humor too high brow.

Not really a SitCom...though it was both funny and British...Doctor Who...Tim Baker was the best Doctor.

Fawlty Towers - Hillarious. I love this show. John Cleese was on the same flight I was in October. (gratuitous California celebrity sighting) Unfortunately, he was in first class and I wasn't I have always liked his work.

Absolutely Fabulous - I love this show

Are you being served is cute.

    Keeping Up Appearances

    My brother likes Black Adder

    My son loved Teletubbies.

Mike, I've only seen a few.

Mr. Bean, Rowan Atkinson, is hilarious.

AbFab. Well what can I say there? Absolutely twisted. And Saffie is HOT!!!!

    Fawlty Towers.....John Cleese. Nuff said.

And then of course it bears mentioning one of Great Britain's greatest contributions to the world: Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Mike, who didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition.

I haven't seen Benny Hill in years. I used to see it when I was a kid, I could hardly understand him, he spoke with that really heavy accent. (Cockney?) But I do remember laughing like crazy at the fast-motion skits. And of course the dancers with the pasties were way beyond anything I had seen on American TV.

Keeping Up Appearances has its moments of greatness, Onslo rules! Mr. Bean is good too, the movie was awful though. What were they thinking?

I've never found John Cleese to be that funny.

Fawlty Towers- Hysterical, love John Cleese.
Mr. Bean- Not big on Rowen in this one......
Black Adder- Because I like him in these.
Monty Pythons Flying Circus- I've watched this since i was 5
Benny Hill- My parents wouldn't let me watch this.
Keeping Up Appearances- My mom liked it. I thought it was mildly amusing at times.

the telletubbies- As far as I'm concerned, this is a rip off of Monty Python.....

    "run away!"....rabbits everywhere, magic hats....
Are You Being Served?- Scary 70's fashion. But, again, Mildly amusing.
So Graham Norton- He is friggen hysterical.
    Eastenders- REALLY....bad....soap opera.

Fawlty Towers John Cleese is funny. Doesn't matter what he's in. He doesn't have to say a thing. He just emanates funny. He's also hot.

Mr. Bean funny in an odd way. Monty Pythons Flying Circus I cannot put into words how funny this show is. Best thing to come to USA from England since the Beatles. Like Python and The Beatles? See The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash, Eric Ide's parody of the history of the Beatles. A mocumentery. You'll laugh your socks off. My fiance wants the Python DVD complete set for X-mas. It's over $170 new.
Waiting For God Is this the show with the lady vicar?
Benny Hill I love Benny. Mom loved him and Python and we'd watch them together way back in the 70s. Benny was silly, mischeivious, naughty and mostly lovable.
Keeping Up Appearances I love the show. Pat Rutlidge is brillient in this role. Loved her in To Sir With Love, one of my top five favorite movies.
Absolutely Fabulous This show is insanely funny! I love the role reversal and the sarcasm.
the telletubbies Unique and very cute. Used to watch them with my grandson. He thought they were pretty funny.

Are You Being Served? Very funny, my whole family loves this show.
English people aren't funny, only funny looking! The Royal Family is proof of this.
teletubbies is not comedy either twat! Ask a yank three year old's opinion of this one.
As Time Goes By Charming and romantic. I only hope to age as gracefully as Judy Dench.
Yanks can be trusted! We'd like you to believe this.

Yes instant depression ! How many times can we fit the phrase 'Wot's goin on?' into 30 minutes

Looks like I'm out voted with Benny Hill though
