    littletoe: please show me the condescending statement and explain why it is condescending abbadon: please direct me to any theories (published or unpublished in scientific journals) which posit that time and space do constitute matter - i am open to learning as well - if this is YOUR theory, please explain it - or, if you have published the theory please tell me in what journal

    wow, bradley - 12 pages! I can't agree with your methods, but by god, I can't argue with the results.

    Like they used to say in 1937, "Got to respect the German economy," and "Mussolini at least makes the trains run on time."

    So, props to the condescending LR, for his stellar creation of a monster that ran for four pages after he begged everyone to kill it.

    I just got caught up on all that was said while I was away, and the more I read, the less impressed I am with an Internet forum as a way to arrive at the truth. But it sure was fun, eh?

    Wus a matta old bud? Hows come your so down?

    The internet doesn't always have things that are truth.....but MANY times it does. All of the things the witnesses are exposed as, have been truths to others here. Many other thoughts expressed here are just that......thoughts of others. Sometimes these thoughts are good ideas that have worked for the individual speaking, and for others.

    So whats up anyway?

    Definition: [n] a theory that explains scientific observations; "scientific theories must be falsifiable"
    Since most of the "weird" stuff can not be falsifiable does not mean it is not true. This is a scientific process and is not perfect.

    Really? Do you type *blink* or *heart beat* too? Honestly, if you're going to lie, please try to make it convincing.

    Anyway, re. the postulation you make regarding space time;

    Empty space, we have discovered, is actually not empty at all. Quantum effects constantly produce particles and antiparticles "out of nothing," only to have them disappear few moments later.

    http://www.fnal.gov/pub/inquiring/matter/

    You seem to be confusing 'space' with 'vacuum', and galloping over the fields to some unsupported position on the basis of this misconception. The very fabric of space time IS a fabric, in the sense that it has a structure, a wharp and a weft, and even if this is only energy, we know that there is equivalency between matter and energy.

    Thus any theory based upon 'space and time are not made of matter and are therefore imaginary' is utter rubbish, as - mass or not - space is most certainly 'real' and substansive, thus invalidating your premise.

    As for time not having matter, well, yes and no. The three dimensions we can 'see' and the rest we postulate about move along an axis we call time. Time as an entity in itself can either be argued to have zero mass, or the mass of the entire system moving through that dimension at any one point.

    If time is a magic rope, for example, that doesn't weigh anything, and our Universe is moving down the rope, then while the rope may weigh nothing at all, if you looked at the 'scales' at the fixing point of the rope, they would show the mass of the Universe as it was moving 'along' the rope.

    Also, it is logical to assume the extreme hare-brained versions of reality where a different time-line is spawned with every possible alternative choice are either impossible or controlled by laws as yet to be discovered, otherwise there would be severe violation of the principle of the conservation of energy every single millisecond.

    Things like this also indicate anything based upon 'time and space have no mass and are therefore imaginary' to be 'wrong' - sorry if you find the technical words confusing.
