Bible Study Approaching Its End

I have been engaging in Bible Study with my Bible Study Conductor for the past two years. I am on Lesson 48 of Enjoy Life Forever book and it is only a matter of time before I complete Lesson 60 which is the final lesson. My Bible Study Conductor informed me today that once I complete Lesson 60, I won’t be receiving any more studies as I have been given all of the information that I need to make a decision. I definitely enjoy the studies as I find them uplifting and encouraging. I have also learned a lot about God and the Bible. However, I am not ready to become an unbaptized publisher nor witness as I do not feel that the Jehovah’s Witness religion is the one true religion. Even though I believe that the Jehovah’s Witness religion is not the one true religion, I am sad that my studies are coming to an end and I am hurt. Where will I get my spiritual nourishment? How will I navigate life without spiritual support?

Back in the pre-1975 date when the WTS was using the blue Truth book, students had to be coming to the meetings after 6 months, or study would be terminated, because there were so many other people who needed a chance to survive Armageddon.

1969 ARE you among the over one million persons who are at present being helped by Jehovah’s witnesses to learn what the Holy Bible teaches? If you are, likely you are using the Bible-study aid The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life. Undoubtedly it has helped you to learn many wonderful things about God and his will for mankind.

Those of you who have been studying the Bible for about six months should by now be in position to decide whether you are going to follow through on what you have learned.

Well, I did envision that the studies would come to an end as I am not working towards baptism. I guess that she found a gentle way to end the studies. It still hurts, though.

Well, it was 2 years. The WTS does not want it to become a social occasion...at least that is what they told jws back then. Some jws had been calling on people for 10 years, who never set a foot in the KH, it was a cookies and tea moment, and casually chatting. A great way for jws to be able to record time spent talking about the bible to put on a monthly record slip. The Watchtower Society stopped requiring that of most jehovah's witnesses in the last year.

To complete your education, you must understand Jehovah's Witnesses' history and dogma. Go to JWfacts.com. Let us know when you have. Welcome to the group!

I was present at The Kingdom Hall when it was mentioned that hours would no longer be counted. I’m sure that when hours were counted, there were Jehovah’s Witnesses who found a way to amplify the actual number of hours that they had spend teaching the good news.

There is an element of contrivance in the reported anecdote. However, the trap of emotional engagement is in any case by design. See Are JW Bible studies ‘obligation free’?

You said the JW’s preach the “good news”. Can you explain what that good news is ?
